  1. I've wired up 27Mhz antennas in the past and left the co-ax conections exposed or just covered with a rubber boot but self amalgamating tape, silicone sealant and a few other things will seal it or help to keep corrosion at bay adequately if you are that worried. Get the mount on, get the SWR as low as poss and Bob is your long lost uncle who is getting slightly concerned that you may be worrying unduly about waterproofing. Keep a regular check on the SWR and the cleanliness of the connections
  2. If you had a template or dimensions then any sheet metal place or similar would be able to cut something out of sheet for you, same applies for perspex, in fact it would not be at all hard hard to DIY. Whereabouts are you located?
  3. Not much different than they have been for a number of years, in fact I think this one is probably finished a bit better (apart from the underseal).
  4. Nope, as you say just muck and eventually rust.
  5. Just picked mine up from the main dealer and the underside and chassis now has a much better coat of Waxoyl (thanks Dougie ...if you ever read this).
  6. Nice vehicle but extras and bolt on's don't always mean you will get a premium price.
  7. Don't overlook the fact that the rear wheelarches on the 2007's are different to the earlier models, they look to be reinforced and the inside edge is also stepped too. This is my 110 but I think 90's are similar If it were my kids I think I'd go the Exmoor Trim route.
  8. Mine is booked in with main dealer on Tuesday. For a courtesy vehicle I am getting ...a 1.2 Renault Clio
  9. Mine stays on for a bit after startup but goes out soon after the vehicle starts moving.
  10. Statutory Instrument 1989 No. 1796 The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 Statutory Instrument 2005 No. 2559The Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Regulations 2005
  11. As far as I am aware there are no child seats approved for use in sideways facing seats.
  12. Checker plate would be your easiest option. Replacing the rear skin is more time consuming than difficult.
  13. Bad luck Si. Glad that you are ok though.
  14. Good advice - keep the loosened nut on the thread!
  15. What's up with the discs John? I know you said something about the pads rattling.
  16. Ok the latest... Just had a call from the service exec at the supplying main dealer and after consulting with his manager etc they have agreed as a goodwill gesture to have the vehicle in to apply further wax protection FOC. He also said that both he and his manager had read the the comments on here.
  17. As the bodyshop manager at the main dealer has not bothered to call me back as promised on Tuesday I sent a recorded delivery letter to the dealer principle yesterday which includes a link to this thread.
  18. Right I have just received the following from Land Rover I just spoke to the guy who sent the e-mail and he says that Land Rover will not cover the cost of applying more wax protection and that any that to have more protection applied will have been purely at the main dealers discretion. When I pointed out that the 110 hardtop that is currently on display in my supplying main dealer has lots more underbody protection applied he suggested that perhaps the main dealer had done this themselves. I also said that I did not understand that if they are making improvements why there was apparently less protection on the new models than the old but received no real response to that. Following that I said that surely after spending near 30 grand on a vehicle surely it is not too much to ask that £50 in materials and a couple of hours of labour in the main dealer to get my vehicle protected to the same extent as the showroom model? He replied that land Rover themselves will not foot the bill. I then told him requested that he had better ring the main dealer and request they to foot the bill then. End of conversation.
  19. Cancel the alloys and stick a set of Wolf wheels on it. Easy peasy.
