  1. I just sit over here in the corner with my pipe, slippers and pint / glass of malt keeping myself to myself. Mutter, mutter, mutter....
  2. Okaaay but I did say Defender, not Discovery
  3. Mine is booked back in on Monday for an inspection of the underseal ...or lack of it.
  4. I'm still running mine in so it hasn't reached 60 yet
  5. Mine is about the same, what there is still pretty sticky so much so that I haven't been able to hose off the stubble and muck from much of it. Not much sign of the more consistent coating I've found on my previous Defenders including the last TD5.
  6. What bolts? There are only the hinge fixings one side and the door latches are adjustable anyway. Sounds like dealer BS to me. My last TD5 would occasionally sound its alarm in the wee hours of the morning but that was down to the pressure switch kicking in when the pressure dropped in the onboard air tank.
  7. I'm bringing this back to the top as I have a related query. Reading through this and other threads again I understand that I can only bolt an approved but ugly as hell ABS FPS to the front of my 2007 model Defender. Ok, I get that bit but where do we now stand when it comes to bolting lumps of plate* below and to the rear of the bumper and in front of the axle on vehicles registered after the commencement date of the new FPS regs? * Steering guards.
  8. Dan, If you killed your TD5 with over use what sort of use and mileage did you put on it?
  9. Do you prefer it over a 300TDI/TD5? Yes For business users, is it possible to reclaim the VAT on the SW with panelled rear windows? Ask your accountant. Do the doors fit? Better than previous models yes. On the face of it a 110 SW is a lot of money for what it is, however, have you found the cost of running and changing newish ones for new ones camparitively acceptable? Presumably the answer is yes because you have done it, I guess I'm asking if running a 110 has made financial sense compared to say a Disco? I took very little loss on the late TD5 I traded in so the additional I had to stump up for the new one was acceptable. Having owned and run several of both (110 /Disco) the 110 makes more sense for me and my needs at the moment. Depreciation is less on the Defender than the Discovery.
  10. I was wallowing in muck before you were born sonny Seeing how much you enjoy taking photos of mudflaps here's gratuitous pic just for you of a bit of splatter over mine as a result of having to cross some stubble fields yesterday
  11. Here's mine - had it all of two days. Zermatt Silver 110 XS Various additional bits, some still to go on but I'm much too modest to list them
  12. ^^^^Wot he says too^^^ Going out on your own when you are relatively inexperienced could result in a lot more aggro than if you had another vehicle along who could assist if anything goes wrong. Join a local club and get clued up
  13. Hmmm, I resisted the urge with this one so maybe the new one is safe
  14. If you don't need the additional ironmongery (and winch by the looks of it) then make sure the seller is not adding ££'s for them.
  15. Above all the most important bit is the space between the drivers ears
  16. Speaking from 30 years personal experience of most of the Land Rover engines (Series, 90's & 110's) I would avoid a TD. Being somewhat stressed they were not brilliant to start with when new and unless it has been mollycoddled or been reconditioned in the meantime it will be pretty long in the tooth now. So, if I were you I'd get another 200Tdi or maybe a 300Tdi if you can stretch to it or find a good one within your budget. Do not be in a hurry to buy - take your time as there are bargains to be had. If you need to cart dogs about look for a 110 CSW, the additional passenger seats are always handy plus you can always fold the second row down if you need to carry anything big. Whenever I've owned a SWB or 90 for day to day use (and I've owned just a few) I've usually ended up hampered by lack of reasonably civilised seating or loadspace.
  17. It's to keep the fish and chips / take-away of your choice in and warm on the way home. I believe it is all part of LR's designed in 'lifestyle' package
  18. Thank you. I'll be kitting it out to meet my needs yes
  19. Go wash your mouth out ...and change your underwear
