  1. I know there are some fieldsports enthusiasts on this forum and I dare say some may have planned to attend the CLA Game Fair at Harewood House. However due to the current weather situation the CLA have had to cancel the event - the first time this has happened in the 49 year Game Fair history. From the CLA website: Continues here
  2. Good post. Social aspect apart I grew bored of the Land Rover show format some years ago, it's tired and to me is only fed by whatever new innovations or fads the market demands (or follows) plus a steady trickle of newcomers.
  3. I would report it and get a reference number from the police then I would get on to your legal advisor. In the meantime stick to your guns and if it looks like they are going to continue to be awkward don't get involved in any face to face arguments with the 'specialist'. Write them a letter telling them what you expect and when you expect it done by, send the letter by recorded delivery and keep a copy.
  4. As they're ex police I'd say this was about what I'd expect too. Double it and then add some and you could buy my XS
  5. Buy a new one, don't take chances with brake components.
  6. Google Supagard and Diamond Brite. I've decided not to have it done.
  7. I think I see some Brute and Old Spice labels
  8. Congrats - now to get some real experience under your belt
  9. Done a bit of googling research about this treatment and John is right that it has to be done before the vehicle is waxed otherwise it needs be removed prior to treatment. Supagard ( Diamond Brite is somewhat similar ) is a hand applied paint sealer which dries to a haze and then buffed. To protect the treatment they recommend that you then only use approved shampoo's etc. Depending on the size of the vehicle material cost appears to be around the fifty quid mark.
  10. I got the blurb too but it's a bit vague about what the paintwork protection they offer actually is. If it's sprayed on does that mean they take a new vehicle into the bodyshop for a full mask up prior to application or is it more likely to be a hand applied process? I think the interior protection they use is something akin to 3m Scotchguard.
  11. So what stuff do the LR main dealers use then?
  12. My current TD5 is supposed to had the protection biz but the paintwork still scratches like a good'un. I haven't bothered with it on the new one I'm getting.
  13. My kids call my 110 Bess for the same reason (it's black)
  14. Over the past few days the moderating team have been having a chat about traffic in the 'around the world' sections of the forum. We came to the conclusion that rather than have separate geographic sections plus an International section it would be better to streamline and combine the whole lot under the banner of the Int'l ...so that is was we've done. Yesterday the entire contents of the former around the world sections were merged with the International and the moderators have, or are in the process of being reassigned to other sections. Other than that it's business as usual
  15. What you do to earn a crust does not dictate what you are as a person. Work to live not live to work. Me? Entrepreneur, bon viveur, raconteur, dilettante and international man of mystery. I enjoy the business of making babies best of all
  16. When I were a lad we luxuries such as starting handles....
  17. You will probably find Farecla G3 better, it's what many bodyshops use. Brasso (and T-Cut come to that) will leave a haze if not removed completely.
  18. All the dealer types I've spoken to have called it 'the new model' or 'the 2007 model'
