I can see this thread has the potential to go round and round in circles and get all big fonts and handbags at dawn on the way. I daresay it could well be locked if it does.
That's fine until you either get nicked for having it fitted and using it on a public highway or perhaps there's an accident because they ignored the sound as they thought it was just some bloke in a Land Rover and not an emergency vehicle trying to get to an incident in a hurry. The electronic airhorn tone is ok but yelp / wail / piercer / hyper yelp & hi-lo etc are likely to attract the sort of attention you'd be best off avoiding.
BTW 200W electronic sirens have been around in the US for years.
Pull the door seal off in the area of the windscreen to bulkhead join and shove some sealant in there. You might want to undo the joining strip bolts and splodge some sealant in around the bolt threads and run a bead of sealant along the filler strip before refitting the bolts. Also check that the sealant in the gutter of the hardtop and along the top of the windscreen frame / hardtop too. Take a look at the same join under the doorseal too.
1. Rubdown to sound metal.
2. Prime (or if you are really fussy etch prime then primer-filler).
3. Colourcoat.
4. Lacquer.
Allow to harden a few weeks then polish.
As it sounds like you haven't got a compressor and spray gun, if you use aerosol (rather than one of the small brush / pencil type touch-ups available from your local LR dealer) you will obviously need to mask the surrounding area.
I do not agree but there again we all have different standards. Anyway, I'll just sit back and continue to watch this thread with my mod / admin hat set at a jaunty angle
Agreed. I don't think there is a need to go over old ground again but for the benefit of those who have not been here long whole ethos of this place has been independence from any kind sponsorship and it will continue to be so.

I called in to my local main dealer on the off chance the other day and they only had TD5's in the showroom, the new one was remarkable by it's absence.
I'll add another vote for Kingstown, I've used them in the past and found the service very good. But I'm one of the apparently rare breed who have used RoRo and not sustained any damage or loss to the vehicle.
