  1. STC4096L was the kit I got. All though I think I actually got it from Craddocks not Paddocks . Click Here Was well worth it as when I got the front of the engine apart I found that the belt was rubbing on the inside of the front cover and had reduced it's width by about 4mm (compared to the dayco replacement) and filled the cover with rubber dust in the less than 18 months (less than 10,000miles) that I have owned the vehicle, I got the belt changed buy the seller before I bought it. The original crank pulley had no guides for the belt and had allowed it to run forward into the case, the new (cast) pulley has two guides that keep the belt in the correct position. Pete.
  2. I got mine from Paddocks. Can't remember what the part number was but I got the kit that includes the belt ,the belt tensioner and idler pulley and the crank pulley. Pete.
  3. When I used to run a 205 GTi i had some running issues linked to dirty injectors. I used this lot (HGL Motors) who offer a postal service for cleaning and testing injectors for not a lot of money. I was very pleased with the work done and the car ran considerably better with the cleaned injectors. HTH Pete.
  4. /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ Wot he said!! Pete.
  5. The above quote shows why it won't. If some one is determined to get your vehicle they will pretty much what ever you do. but as said above if yours is harder to nick or less desirable then it is less likely to go. Pete.
  6. Have you actually tried driving it with the anti-roll bars removed? I use my disco every day on a 35 mile commute on a mixture of A and B roads with no anti-roll bars fitted and find that it is fine, yes it rolls a little more (I also have a 2" lift) but not in a oh my gawd I am gonna fall over kind of way and to be honest I find the ride is better with out the bars fitted. I don't hang around either although I don't try and drive it like it's a sports car either. HTH Pete.
  7. To do with a 300TDi but parts of this thread might be useful Here! Pete
  8. Could cause an amusing crunching noise if he forgets to remove it before backing off the drive. Pete.
  9. Mine have just arrived. Look great, Cheers. Pete.
  10. So did he T-shirt thread but mine haven't got here yet. Pete.
  11. Excellent, look forward to receiving a parcel in the near future. Thanks again for sorting all this out. Pete.
  12. I have done this on my 300TDI and it definately smokes less than it did and more importantly is not cokeing up the inlet tract with a marmite like substance. Can't really say that it had a huge effect on the way the truck goes but I sorted several things out at the same time which all made a difference. HTH Pete.
  13. Hi Brasco, I changed the flange on mine because I was fitting a different type of propshaft that required a different type of flange. However other than that I can't think of a reason to change the flange other than the reasons you have stated and if the flange is that badly worn that it needs changing I would guess that the noises coming from the rear diff would be pretty terrible. Part of this procedure allows access to the pinion nut which have been known to come loose on some peoples trucks so obviously you would need to get access to re-tighten/ investigate the trouble. HTH Pete.
  14. This lot (LRC) seem to be very friendly although I have only bought parts from them so can't vouch for their repair work. They may also be a bit to far south for you as they are in Congleton near junction 17 of the M6. I would also recommend not using it until you can confirm it is actually a failed head gasket as you could wreck the engine. Pete.
  15. I intercooled my old TD and found that it went a bit better (I did not alter the fueling but did up the boost a little). Fitting an intercooler will not damage the engine (as long as the fueling and boost are not majorly altered) and it has been said that it could actually help reduce thermal shock to the engine. Which should help it last longer. HTH Pete.
  16. Shouldn't be a problem mine has passed two MOT's at different test stations with both anti-roll bars removed. I still have the brackets on the chassis. Pete.
  17. Hi, I would check that the diff pinion's are tight as when mine made a similar noise I found that there was a lot of play in the rear diff flange. ( I had just replaced the flange and had not done it up correctly.) HTH Pete.
  18. You would be suprised, I used to build fire engines for a living and the number that we used to get in for repair that had been hit up the a**e at traffic lights was un-real, (1 or 2 a month on average) and they have a much larger amount of diamond grade reflective tape on the back. Pete
  19. Payment sent via Paypal, When you get a moment could you confirm receipt, Cheers Pete.
  20. I have also snapped one as I couldn't get the lock nut undone due to rust and being already rounded off. However luck was on myside as the stub of the bolt is just the right length to give the correct steering. Pete.
  21. Nice effort, will be worn with pride. Pete.
  22. Cheers Ralph, looks like it'll be the second number as it has/had all of those. Pete.
