  1. See this is where a like button wouldn't go a miss lol-nice one Lewis hope it works well for you John
  2. I made something similar for the stop solenoid on my 200 tdi's FIP-out of a 24mm open ended spanner John
  3. I've had nothing but good service from Adventure 4x4-leeds, regardless of wether I've been buying from e-blag or even at an autjoumble, they seem to be good down to earth people, to deal with them and they are as I am straight talking-yes I have to be diplomatic as far as work goes, but when you need to be straight talking-the businesss end speaks volumes John
  4. I drive round with my headlights on during the day-It really does help!! John
  5. Barry, Now you're talking mate, and anyway you would'nt have to use the police to remove said drivers the military has just made redundant 20000 personell so they could do the job quite nicely-either that or they should be re-uniformed into the border agency and be used that way Instead John
  6. Trackers are really cheap nowadays and If I'd have lost as many as him I'd fit one as it sounds like he's being targeted ..... John
  7. Is that Irony at work-with the AA van on the back of your trailer? John
  8. I have to agree with you Matt-hence why I drive round with my headlights on day or night
  9. At the age of 43 I'm getting less and less tolerant of the less common sensed individuals that we have on this planet,( I can't explain fully on here as the swear filter would block it all out lol) I drive round with my headlights on day and night and so far it's saved less educated persons pulling out on me on numerous occasions and also saved them from connecting with my winch bumper too, I was on the M3 about a week ago and the weather was getting bad with the rain and getting towards evening time and people still didn't have any form of lighting on-including side lights The world I'm afraid Is full of Dick-heads John
  10. Cheers Ross, I haven't used Brick kiln for about 10 years and it was always a great place to go and play without giving the spoilsports the chance at having another pop at us for doing something we enjoyed. John
  11. I'd still look at filling the cooling system properly as to me It sounds like an air lock-is your heater blowing hot/warm air? John
  12. Didn't one of the comics say they were going to be building the defender in Sri Lanka? John
  13. Blimey, you would've thought by now we'd have all learnt to not buy BP parts, Yes I appreciate that there maybe a few parts they do that could be up to the job-Not that many obviously!! otherwise we'd not still be moaning about them after all this time.. John
  14. And for my next trick-once I work out which broom to remove from my arras is to do the same as you Ross and paint my floor grey, I've also sprayed the ceiling of the garage too in white matt emulsion and already have the floor paint I got that at anchor surplus the last time i was up in that neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago, They did it for £27 a gallon-not sure wether thats cheap or not to be honest?. John
  15. I also found spraying the walls of garage matt white emulsion for brightening it up works incredibly well too John
  16. I've got something very similar myself-sits on the bottom shelf of my two four tier shelves at the back of my garage John
  17. DrRob any idea or do you know why brick kiln farm has shut down?, It was great venue and was used by all and sundry too John
  18. Dave, It may seem like a fair bit of hassle but it really does work well, I've had the upgraded wiring( I followed mmgemini's diagram) on my 90 for about 3 years now and the difference is great-at least 50+ % better lighting just using ordinary H4 bulbs, I live in somerset and the area I live in-Frome has some really dark roads as there is very little street lighting unless you're in one of the towns that is, so for me It was a no brainer to do and I'm really glad I did It. John
  19. My apologies guys, I was merely relaying info he told me-obviously not true, Sorry. John.
  20. Lewis I have a 3 ton halfords quick lift jobby : http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_898873_langId_-1_categoryId_255207 And it's a penny under the £100 you have the budget for, plus If you have a trade card that should make it cheaper too. John
  21. I removed the small brass knurled drain valve on the base of my 3hp 150 ltr SIP compressor and replaced it with the large chrome plated tap that was situated on the end of the tank (the one thats got a black plastic lever on it), and now when I drain the tank after a days work in the garage it removes any rust or liquid that was in the tank, I had to use an adaptor-not sure on the size as it was a while ago that I did the conversion. John
  22. I was speaking to a mate of mine within the garage trade recently (he owns a garage that does tyres/MOT's etc.) he informs me that traffic police officers are all qualified MOT Inspectors-they have to be to be able to pick things out/up during roadside checks etc. they do one MOT a year and that covers them for updates on the current rules on new things VOSA bring out, As far as I'm aware the wheels and tyres have to be within the coverage of the arches John
