  1. The auto flywheel has the same trigger wheel And the later Thor/Bosch has a 60-2 wheel.
  2. You don't need the special distributor of the Sniper system since the GEMS RV8 already has a crank sensor. Most system should be able to be configured to read it, it's a 36-1 toothed wheel IIRC. I think if I were to do it I'd go for a Haltech or similar, they seem much more friendly to tune and a bit more robust than MS. And the price isn't all that far off either.
  3. Don't think we know each other, but nice finds! Good luck with them.
  4. Plenty of people with trailers around if it breaks spectacularly
  5. Finally got around to it. That'll do it. Turns out the right rear is right above this hole: Which goes into the wheel well. Normally there is the inner liner to give a bit of protection, but I don't have that one anymore, so it's a straight throw from the tyre to the valve... But even cars with inner wheel wells get junk in there, like on this valve block I took off the shelf: So I popped a grommet in the hole and poked a small hole for drainage. There's a bunch of slots and such in the side of the box that would let large amounts of water drain anyway. Mystery (and problem) solved
  6. I was under the impression you had a plan in your head (And I didn't really think about it until now either)
  7. Honestly for something like Sid I'm a bit surprised you didn't go for air shocks or coilovers. Would solve most of the issues...
  8. 29th is a bit late I'm afraid, we'll be there 23rd - 25th.
  9. Anywhere along the M4 between Cardiff and London works
  10. Would be nice if it was easy to retrofit the D2's ACE system. That would solve most of the leaning issues.
  11. I'd be a bit careful with the magnet as you could easily do a whole lot more damage if the particle comes out another way than it went in. Eye-die-grinder sounds terrifying, think I'd need full sedation for that. Getting laser eye surgery was one of the most terrifying things I've done (really don't like things touching my eyes), and that didn't even involve anything actually touching my eye!
  12. Not going to happen. I'd much rather spend some more time insulating. Life's too short to be miserable.
  13. I sit behind a computer all day working from home. Anything under 19°C and my hands get very, very uncomfortable. And I'm not going to sit inside with gloves on. Question for those that have it: is the Tado better than the Nest? It seems to me that it would be, especially if it integrates well with the radiator knobs.
  14. A Watts would keep the axle from moving side to side, and introduce a bunch of bump steer, just like a triangulated 4-link would. A panhard bar parallel to the drop link is the best solution here.
  15. I think with the current state of things, PHEVs are and will be the answer for a few years to come. EV driving for 90% of daily journeys, and no problem doing long-range and/or towing with quick refuelling with the ICE. Someone really should bring out an affordable hybrid setup for Land Rovers by bolting onto the PTO - how hard could it be?
  16. Allmakes for now still seems like the "premium" Britpart for now. At least for the exhaust centre box I recently fitted, seemed surprisingly well made. Never had good experiences with Bearmach myself, the only thing I ever ordered there was a replacement upper tailgate for my Classic, and that arrived bent and badly finished...
  17. Wasn't that one of those Chinese ebay ones? Maybe it's just rubbish... Maybe it's just restricting flow too much?
  18. Exactly what I was thinking. If it has just moved, and you caught the problem in time, knock it out, put some bearing retaining (green) loctite on there, pop it back in and run it. Costs you a set of gaskets and some Loctite you can probably pinch from work I mean, it's already broken, you're not going to make it worse.
  19. Despite it having some issues (glares at p38 being strange), air suspension is very nice on gravel roads. It just soaks up the bumps and washboards so much better, as we've been noticing over the past few days. And with potential huge weight differences, it's a no brainer. Leaf springs will just rattle that camper to bits in a week.
  20. Just spotted this beast in Gävle, Sweden. Pretty sweet! 4x4 too:
  21. Do you actually have any cooling issues? Seems to be a huge pain that you can't refill with water in a pinch.
  22. A Gwagen with a Defender body kit should sum it up? Not that that's a bad thing.
