Slap it back on then steve, it did make me wonder though with that much clearance, i reckon it was a work-experience boy doing the drawing office corrections that day and no one ever bothered to change it!
Check the earths, the d-lander had clicky relays when the earth was faulty, could be a dodgy relay tho. Have you taken the multi plug off the pump yet and checked for power when the ignition is on?
Bizarre -i lived in the area for years with landrovers and was a marshall at one of the few sites in the area and yet ive never seen Kevin, or i dont think big-jer or many others - shame ive moved now as it weould have been nice to meet you all.
Still, i know a lot of guys round there - i'll make them aware of this event.
They only work though if you take them out when the baby isnt in the car, otherwise said emergency services could be looking for a baby who could either allegedly be in the car, or have been thrown free when in reality they were never there at all.
I'm sorry if i got this wrong but you are trying to engineer a project that involves as little work as possible, and ask on a forum to gather our knowledge and experience and ideas just to avoid doing anything yourself?
Thanks for all the support chaps - might well be time to return to freelance Solidworks design/draughting work!
As for the snow, despite being a stones throw from dartmoor there isnt a spot of snow here yet!!
Why dont you use the motion simulation part of Solidworks to analyse the motion and limitations of the new setup, also you could use cosmos for the FEA - either way you dont need to remodel it to run the FEA.
The wiring goes straight into the top of the tank so you can check that by cutting a hole - its entirely your choice mate but i know what i'd do, bear in mind diesel weighs similar to water @ approx 1Kg/Litre so even with a bit in it the tank becomes heavy!!!
Until recently i worked for the UK's no.1 water company.....i'd seriously invest those £300 for clean safe water Paul.
Out of interest, what made you move there, did you used to live in the UK?
Without doubt but to model it we would also have to add the welds as they are when fabricated as they form an integral part of the arm and would change the results significantly. I'd hapily model and run FEA on them but i dont know the material spec for them, also the bushes used would change the loading results depending on the hardness.
