  1. Epoxy resin works providing you key the surface etc first - all depends on the use and how structural it is.
  2. I'll be there to drop somthing off, so not competing yet. Is it possible to spectate???
  3. The big question is why, TD5's dont have oil coolers so why would you want to add one now?
  4. Where would i get a pair of flanged connectors for connecting my gearbox coolers into my coolant system as shown below?? Also what should i use as a gasket between the 2 flanges bolted together?
  5. Yes, points system still exists as do Q plates however where possible they prefer to give out age related plates on "points vehicles" over a Q where possible.
  6. Was nice to drop by to show a little support, all be it in an Audi and not a landrover, and only for a few mins as i headed north!!
  7. Magnetic sump plugs work so no reason why this gizmo wouldnt work - in practical terms i have no idea!
  8. As long as it meets the required standards it doesnt matter on cost really, go cheap as you can because its all the same to meet the BS/EU/ACEA or whatever standards.
  9. Worth doing....YES Youll gain bhp, torque and drivability, its best when combined with a larger intercooler however a remap alone is good enough to transform a standard vehicle. Cost whise it depends who does it however they are all similar in cost, quality does vary but i'd recommed any of the following: Bell Auto Services (Pete) IRB Developments (Ian) Allisport (Andrew) I have delt with them all personally over the years, i have heard good things about brunell, Jeremy fearn and JE engineering too.
  10. Just because people change it so often doesnt mean its nessecary - if the manufacurer is happy with 12k then its probably good for 15-18K before it becomes drastic, there will be a considerable margin on change periods as it dependa a lot on the use of vehicle and driving style. Stick to the recommended change periods and itll be fine, but do make sure you use the correct grade oil as it makes a big difference and TD5's dont want thick oil, this doesnt mean it has to be expensive though.
  11. It should be safe however if the manufacturer says dont then you have no come back - stick to ones which say it is safe
  12. Looking good Pete - guess i'll have to get the d-lander finished ready for one
  13. Rose joints are superb.....on track cars and race cars, they are not so good offroad, they wear quickly and have no give.
  14. It passed the statutory requirements on the day it was presented - its all fine!
  15. Any further thoughts on the value guys before i put up some adverts??
  16. Dam - not sure i wanted to know that, i was thinking of saving money by giving my bottle back to BOC who seem to charge a fortune each year for very little and converting back to gasless.
  17. Got to sell it Si, i've been made redundant and its either this or the d-lander becomes a risk and having spent so much time working on her i dont want to start removing parts before i even finish. Crazyfarmerboy - do you really think that much????
  18. Hi fellas, can you lot help me put a price on my Defender please.... 1992 'J' 200TDi Truck cab pickup 265/75-16 BFG Mud terrains (loads of tread) Black modular wheels Performance intercooler, tweaked pump Silicone hoses & stainless pipes 1/1.5" lift using monroe dampers and unknown springs 30mm wheel spacers all round new td5 front bumper whitbread offroad external rollcage with mounts for ground anchor & CB & waffles towbar & twin electrics crystal headlights led bulbs in stop/tail lights rock/tree sliders front and rear diff guards Loads of work done recently including brand new injection pump, new starter motor, new front and rear brake pads/shoes, new td5 transmission brake, new washer motor and plenty more. In generally good condition, has seat covers on seats, is pretty clean inside and out and mechanically sound. Chassis is sound, everything works - i was lead to believe it has has had a new gearbox about 18months ago too. So - the big question, what is she worth???
  19. Prime the pump again, several times, also check the fuel lines are connected correctly at all acessible points...
  20. I did 60K in my stage 2 tuned TD5 and never had any problems with warping - cars now done over 180k and still going strong.
  21. Or waterjet cut which is my current fave
  22. As they are already in production (hence the photo) id suggest you simply purchase one as the cost for a laser cut one is likely to be many times the cost, if you need many of them done in a production run though then it will become much more reasonably priced.
  23. QT are though and they have to comply to UK law otherwise every foreigner (student, visitor, immigrant or other) who ever bought say a laptop or a mp3 whilst here wouldnt be covered would they! Either way he isnt responsible for the return shipping, nor was anyone else who has sent them back.
