  1. So £150 cash for a four row is a good price. Daan do you have a Serks near you (as was Serk Marsden) they will rebuild your rad and sort out your seized doohickey
  2. OME are now made in China and are a very different ball game Bilstein are worth a punt
  3. Kiwis do it a lot - very successfully. And put it on TV...
  4. There's a chap who used to work for Gearchange (who no longer do LT77's) down in Mark Causeway, works out of his garage... I'll dig out his number/name Of course you folk who live 'the other side of the hill' have to be treated with some caution
  5. The big drain plug is the fifth gear housing and has a particle filter in it. The main drain plug is in front of that and is smaller. The big plug can be a right illegitimate mail progeny of a lady who sells her body for money/booze/drugs. It's easy to cross thread and to over-tighten and damage threads I only do it every three changes
  6. Will do - company will also find you all the other bits There's a chap up by Bowie who re-builds boxes rather well
  7. Just as an aside. I know a man who has all the bearings in stock for an R380 and an LT77 A certain company who re-build gearboxes put in an order from a wholesaler but the wholesaler bought in Spanish made bearings - too expensive due to high quality; so Chinese 'made to a price' were used instead. The man I know bought the original order... Good supplier
  8. Mine doesn't leak. It also got oil in. Just work through the leaks, seals and breathers
  9. That's what I said about my prostate examination
  10. Daan I just get mine rebuilt/ Arrow Radiators in Avonmouth charges 150 English for a 4 row core upgrade. They will put a threaded boss in above the outlet pipe for an extra 15 English.
  11. You were going to put them both in a crate!
  12. I have two of the Brownchurch pick up type - sort of like a double span across... Free if you want to make something bigger
  13. Are the 3.0 litre versions of the MWM-International lump available? I know they are in the US of A....
  14. Relay feed, Ozram Night Blasters - now worries - all legal and cheap
  15. Safe money on the line going to an Eastern country for RoW production
  16. The issue is that it doesn't make enough profit for LR The engines are within emission regs and will be until the next option is available The bumper is an issue, as are the crumple zones but that simple removes a massive sales sector of the market - although Jeep got around it with the JK, but they spent money on what is already a huge profit maker. It's finished. Nuff said. Shame but hell it lasted all these years. There's loads left that have all just gone up in value as long as you look after them and don't bolt too much tat on. The aftermarket spares folk will keep you supplied for a fee. Live with it. Biggest issue is that the cheapest, easily available and thus possibly best base vehicle for Overland and off road driving just got expensive. So now we bother to resurrect all those rotten Nissan Patrols and live axled Hi-luxes
  17. I would second the TDS Goldfish/Champion Warrior as being a good buy. They aren't fool-proof, but near enough. Parts are readily available. Very efficient motors as well. I wouldn't bother with a bow motor 2 upgrade - it's good but then so is the standard. The 12k is worth a look. It's just a 9.5 with lower gearing, so much less strain. T Max are okay, although spares are not so easy to find. Also it has an internal brake S/h I would also look at the Superwinch EP9 and EP9i - like a lighter weight TDS but still strong and simple
  18. Only ask because some winches draw over 400amps prior to stall
  19. in and out and in needs to be momentary, enable needs to be a standard on and off - it just needs to impede the on/off/on but can be wired to a single HD solenoid permanent live shut off (a' la Warn) but it needs to be a big mother of a solenoid if you intend on using it for emergencies
  20. Nope. I'm careful... Mind, I'm not after Defender bits, I concentrate on the Disco 1 and 2
  21. I use a number of sites on Faceache... Often young lads, new into breaking, with no idea of the potential cost can be encouraged into parting with loads of 'useless' stuff for next to nothing
