  1. The whole point about ditching the dizzy is to get rid of it's vagueness, having a crank sensor gives you bang on timing and response, therefore any fancy ignition system, still using the dizzy, is in my opinion completely against the grain!
  2. I used left over screened VR cable for saw and pip but that was because my edis was in engine bay and ecu inside car Edis unit has some form of shielding on the wires originally!
  3. Me & the gang use memory map for laning and it great, not much cop for challenge though on 1:50k maps I guess
  4. The only thing I have read that I didn't like was you said you gapped the plugs to .08 Normally plugs are gapped to .8 but with MS you can afford 1.0mm Might be a typo but yano thought I best mention
  5. Yes I picked up heater earth and sensor earth at the redundant idle valve socket. This was mainly because there isn't actually any earth sockets otherwise available on the relay board And also my innovate lc1 destructions said to keep all the earths together.
  6. Yeah mate well I'm busy most evenings this week but will be alright mostly this weekend, next weekend I'm away, weekend after I'm not sure just yet. But yeah
  7. Fair play, yeah mine is around 6-8 feet I reckon and it shows no signs of delay etc...
  8. Here's a partially related question that has always interested me: Why the internal MAP sensor? Would it not be better to use a sensor fitted to the manifold itself? More accurate? I was surprised when I found out it was located in the ecu itself and have always wondered if there was a specific reason!
  9. Scared the carp out of me when my snap on light gave me 24 degrees advance at idle!! Turns out it was an advance light so it was actually 12 degrees which was perfect
  10. Config definitely matters, the ms colours are the same as the Lucas colours on nige's wiring diagram!
  11. You could run open crankcase but would need to make sure the rest of the system is plumbed accordingly. Frankly unless you're drag racing I'm not sure why you would not want to use crankcase ventilation. Nige is the man to speak to for all sorts of MSQs
  12. Large step by step lead building section in my ms build thread, all stuff from nige
  13. meeting up would be absolutely fine mate and potentially the only way, can test things on mine and yours and try to spot the difference im away thursday to monday next weekend
  14. Mine flat spots a fair bit when stone cold, and occasionally idles up and down when warning up, but it has been such a small issue I haven't got round to rectifying yet, as it doesn't cause me any trouble. It is very crisp when warm though and holds a solid idle.
  15. Can you not find an air leak yet mike? What happens when you block the intake now?
  16. To those who have looked at mikes datalogs, how do the injector pulse widths and duty cycles appear? Just thinking, have we checked to see that it is getting enough fuel? This is assuming fuel pressure is correct of course. Just thinking it could be lean on fuel not air, perhaps?
  17. Well seeing as youre looking for someone round the corner who could assist, i could be that guy. I dont however know when i can be available, schedule is so packed right now i havent touched my disco for over a week
  18. All i can add is "you're a legend" and " thanks for the transfer box, it is working well" Cheers
