  1. Have you tried a large scaff tube on the end of the breaker?
  2. I personally wouldn't want the possibility of giving the DVLA/VOSA any ammo at all and be able to trace the chassis from manufacture.
  3. In the long run it's probably cheaper to do it without the insurance given your age mikey.
  4. If someone can get it to me, I can get it to Bristol on the 23rd of this month?
  5. Probably is Mikey Personally I would get a chassis from somewhere that is traceable! Richards etc.
  6. I like that! I guess that it needs to be a reasonable size lump so as to dissipate the heat so it doesn't melt!
  7. I undid mine with an 1" socket on the end of a 2ft breaker bar.... with a bottle jack under the end! simples!
  8. Sorry to hear this Mikey . Send my best wishes to Brian for a speedy recovery! Sad as he is probably my favourite s3 Truck cab! As gutting as it must be, see it as an excuse to stick a galvanised chassis under him
  9. Easier that all that.... check your battery! When I had a very dead battery I got only the speedo lit up and the rest dim. Was also effected when headlights turned on! or anything else with a reasonable current draw.
  10. Our old disco 2 was running the 16" wheels with standard Michelin Synchrones. It was noticeable harsher ride when the tyres were pumped up for towing the caravan, but then not let down again!!

  12. I caught a bit of it the other night . She did seem a bit useless, and having to get out and engage the hubs was a little funny Familiar with the roads names and places from Ice Road Truckers
  13. Make some money out of it . Seriously now... would it make more sense to have an engine dyno type thing, and run at say a constant RPM and monitor fuel use with and without the hydrogen generator?
  14. If he doesn't want a sway bar because of the reduction in suspension travel, has he looked at the X-Deflex from www.X-eng.co.uk?
  15. We had one break and managed to buy one on their own, but not sure where it was from in the end. But definitely came in a LR part bag!
  16. I've never used it, but Plasticote do a chrome spray paint
  17. cool . I still live at home and rent is peanuts, so it wouldnt be too bad .
  18. The same thing right? . Anyway, how much would that be!?!! EDIT: only just got that
  19. That first bit is exactly what I'm thinking, I want to see the Defender production before it changes forever. Would be kicking myself if I had never been. (annoying that my grandfather doesn't still work for LR!). What do you get to drive?
  20. The Loire valley is lovely, and one of my favourite parts of France. You have all the Normandy beaches and the associated history, there is also Pegasus bridge which is a great day out.
  21. This is a family forum . Anyway, don't need an excuse for girls!!
