  1. Alan you need one of these http://www.nickygrist.com/fia-electrical-c...witch-611-p.asp should come with fitting instuctions , basicly use the big lugs for the vehicle wiring from bats , and run a cable from the stop solinoid to the build in resister (prevents alternator damage on cut off) and from other side of resistor to batt earth , job done
  2. poped to the shed and measered mine since its up on stands with no wheels on 1555mm wheel mounting to wheel mounting face .....
  3. i blame the people setting out using wheel barrows (without mirror) to setout
  4. gwyn lewis can also supply GKN props http://www.gwynlewis4x4.co.uk/page37.html pretty sure he would be able to get hold of custom jobbies too
  5. mine allways tested on the rollers too , even my evo 6 goes on the roller tester without any probs if it where to grip and get spat out of the rollers would probably stall it , thats what i was told when the car was on a 4wd rolling road @ 100mph
  6. looks like another round im going to have to ''sit out'' truck not ready due to some incompetent company suppliying s/s brake caliper pistons messing me around and claiming non payment etc and spending all my spare ''truck money'' trying to get my house finished enougth to move in roll on round 4 i hope to be sorted and moved in by then he he Dafydd p.s good luck to all that enter
  7. yep my plan was to buy 4 new unions and make up some ''blank'' pipes could take a caliper in to motor factors i guess as they all off waiting to go , guessing they unf or some thing ?

  9. hiya Sam my truck is acctally still a 90 just with 5 3/4" taken off the back so apart fron the back of the tub cut off its a standard 90 tub . devon will defently sell you a winch cradle off the shelf now and im sure if it was to go in to there workshop would make up the rest too but wouldnt have thought they would just sell one . on the other hand depending where you are Gwyn lewis ( http://www.gwynlewis4x4.co.uk/ ) would build you one or try giving Leon a call from alunox im sure he could do the tube work that all he really works with , tell him i sent you . will try send a few pics of when i was building it over to you probably tommorrow now regards Dafydd p.s just pm me if you want more specific info and will see if i can be of any help
  10. the truck above belongs to me , it wasnt acctally built by gwyn but he did give me some great advise before i modded it , the body work was done by myself and the rear is made up of a devon 4x4 front winch bumper cradle (before they sold cradles) the rear was originally built by the same person who built my cage but didnt resemble any thing like i had imagined and asked for so was cut up 2 weeks later and modified with the devon craadle and welded in to place by a mate of mine http://www.alunox.co.uk/ need some more help or some pics (only have a couple ) just ask , good luck Dafydd
  11. you could do a lot worse than making a phone call to Glyn Lewis , he does a few different sets to suit different budgets

  13. whats the matter with you all this is a pay and play site ?
  14. decided to replace the pads and discs on my 300tdi 90 today (bought the bits some time ago) removed the pads and some of the pistons are too rusted up to retract back in to the caliper . whats the option repair or replace ? plan was to just strip clean and replace pistons with stainless steel items with new seals . thing is where do i go for the best parts that i require or if i replace entire caliper what brand to go for , paddocks prices are ok but there is no brand ? whats every ones oppinions on the best and safest way forward a pointer to decent replacment parts would be a great help too cheers Dafydd
  15. just jacked the 90 up today to replace the discs and pads all round and the calipers are not the best , couple of pistons sticking etc . should i just bite the bullet and buy new calipers ? if so what make where from , paddocks do not state a make and allways weary of unbranded saftey components strip , clean and rebuild mine with stainless steel pistons , if i gop this route any one recomend a good supplier for required parts vehicles a 300tdi with discs all round but never really had any concerns with braking power even when towing , so not too fussed on upgrading etc too much cheers Dafydd
