  1. Dunno about Wilts but many I know of it is the council who put up the gates, they then give keys to the farmer(s). I know farmers who can't be bothered to unlock the gates so run up the edges of their fields instead. Some of the old greenlanes are returning to nature,I'd bet some of the narrow wiltshire ones are completely impassable now.
  2. Vinyl wrapping will produce a better finish than paint. This is the kind of finish you would hope for.
  3. Some of my colleagues have been trying this in lorries. Still going with the trial but it seems to be giving between 2% and 5% improvement in mpg. Not a huge saving but if you do very high mileage there is a payback.
  4. Taling of Britpart, are they the same as BritishParts who supply ill-fitting parts for Jags?
  5. Freelander is on the Mondeo/Jag X type platform.
  6. Alternatively for about 20 quid you can but an alternator repair kit, much easier to find a home for it. (sorry about the pun)
  7. Another vote for this type, I've got the sealey version but it probably came out of the same factory. The small castors do make it hard to move on tarmac, but the instructions say not to use it on tarmac anyway. All terrain tyres on an engine crane doesn't sound safe to me.
  8. I made something very similar in persex. Easy to work with home tools and bend with a hot air gun. In black looks very professional. Change from a tenner as well.
  9. Did you not notice the cars in ditches, bent wings and bumpers during the snowy period? I don't think I was the only one who thought "there goes my insurance premium" Who did you think was going to pay for the damage to peoples cars?
  10. People change quad bikes from agri to plg all the time. I would have thought the other way is a similar process. I don't think the dvla will allow it unless you are a farmer though.
  11. Might you be thinking a bit to hard about this one? An efi pump is a high pressure pump so no amount of swirl pot on the engine side of the pump will make any difference. The efi setup returns excess fuel to the tank so you shouldn't worry about flow rate reduction through joints. Importantly efi pumps are push, ie they don't suck. If you want the pump in the engine bay you will need to feed it with a lp pump. As for pump any 2 litre engine pump will be fine for a 3.9, or you could have a look through demon tweeks for a motorsport variety if you fancy an new one. .
  12. Your local exhaust centre will probably shake their head. Don't know about Canada but we have quite a few exhaust specialists who will make any exhaust you want.
  13. Hard to get, but a bcf type is what you need to put out unleaded petrol fires.
  14. I now these phrases are a bit corny, but they do give the potential buyer a warm feeling... genuine reason for sale regularly serviced recently serviced careful owner excellent condition for year nailed through the last mot.
  15. I wouldn't buy it from your description on this forum, if you want top dollar you need to list the good points and let the buyer find the less good bits. If I were doing a 100 odd mile round trip words like "chassis ok" wouldn't excite me much... Read through some ads on fleabay and copy the style of the one that looks most interesting.
  16. Everybody should have one of these little £3 items in their toolbox. Swapping valves, recutting/cleaning internal/external threads plus the pointy bit for stabbing your finger.
  17. Considering the awful machines that come up on the world's favourite auction site, the bodywork looks quite tidy.
  18. It does come off your hands with neat bleach. It also warms your hands up! (Please don't try this at home if you're prone to accidents)
  19. Don't the builders merchants in your area deliver? Save your paint/back/floor/wheel bearings and have a pallet dropped on your front lawn.
