  1. Les I think the other one is mine. Mo was going to get it from you and I will pick it up from him. Rgds Ivan
  2. I had to do mine once. The trick we used was to put the puller on the drop arm, tighten it up and then hit the bottom of the puller. This managed to shock it free. HTH Ivan
  3. To wire in the spotlights off the main beam, proceed as follows: 1. Take a wire from the feed to the main beam (via a switch if you want) to pin 86 on the relay. This doesn't have to be a big wire as it's only switching the relay. 2. Pin 85 on the relay to Earth. 3. Take a feed from the battery (via a fuse) to pin 30 on the relay. 4. From pin 87 on the relay take a wire to the spotlights. The wattage of the spotlights will depend on the size of fuse and wire you need. If you are running a pair of 100W spotlights then you need to divide 100 (wattage)/12 (voltage) to give the Amp rating. So 100/12 is about 8.5 so 10Amp wire (to each spotlight or 20A to the pair) and protect the feed from the battery by a 20A fuse (wire should be rated at 20A+). If wattage is higher then just perform the calculations and uprate evrything accordingly. Relay should be rated at 30A which will supply about 300W of lighting. A quick google on Relay Wiring Diagrams gives you this HTH Ivan
  4. Don't forget to try Craddocks. I know they break Landrovers as I just brought a new dash top for my 90 from them. HTH Ivan
  5. Check the fuses in the Engine Bay just by the coolant tank. Unfortunately my Disco is in the Body shop so I can't take a look. HTH Ivan
  6. Check your Dim/Dip unit. It's behind the instruments in the dash. I had the same problem, disconnected the dim/dip unit and it all worked fine. Hopefully someone will be along shortly with a diagram of what it looks like. HTH Ivan
  7. Try coca cola. Thats good for getting burnt on carbon off. HTH Ivan
  8. I have just done this on my wife's 90. If the washer has fallen off or broken and you are just left with a tube (like I was) the this is what you do. You buy a new washer (about £5) and prise it apart using 2 small flat bladed screw drivers, so that the actual jets are separated from the water tube. You then just tap the new washer part onto the old stub using a nylon hammer. Took me about 10 minutes and it all works fine. HTH Ivan
  9. OK called Alan and they are ordered. Should be in towards the middle of next week. He said they were £2.04 last time he ordered one. I ordered the screw as well. Rgds Ivan
  10. I fitted a 300Tdi to my 2.5TD 90. I just bolted it up to the 300Tdi, I had to miss a couple of the bellhousing bolts out but it fitted fine. It's been in there for over 2 years now. It does make the 300Tdi sit back a bit further but that's all. For an exhaust I think I used the TD down pipe and fitted a piece of flexi pipe to make it join up to the rest of the system. HTH Ivan
  11. Mart Call Alan at Rogers. If he doesn't have it in stock he will be able to get it quickly. Or do you want me to see about it. Rgds Ivan
  12. Rather than legislating against Bull Bars, would it not be better to teach people to drive properly ? Also teach kids and pedestrians how to cross the road properly ? Of course, forgot that may mean spending money and no government wants to do that. Much better to simply pass a law and ban stuff.
  13. I fitted vented Range Rover Discs to my Discovery. The axles are from a 1996 Disco so don't know if that's metric or not. Had to change the calipers as well. HTH Ivan
  14. You can get discounts from the SeriesIII club. HTH Ivan
  15. I think 94 will be a 300 Series so the speedo will be electrical. Most probably the transducer. Either a poor connection, the wires catching somewhere (and shorting) or the transducer shot. HTH Ivan
  16. Doesn't do it on mine. I have taken the battery off a number of times and it does not affect the SRS light. However, with the SRS it is better to take it to an independant and get it plugged in. Rgds Ivan
  17. Where did you buy it from ? Marshalls or Rogers of Bedford ? I bought 3 of them from Rogers recently and they were nowhere near that price. If you are looking for bits in the future let me know. I have brought so much stuff off Rogers that they now give me a 30% trade discount. Rgds Ivan
  18. Thanks for the info guys. I will get him to give Ralph a call first. If I need anymore info will give you a shout. Rgds Ivan
  19. I think it's a PTO one which runs a hydralic pump for the winch. I think the pump runs off the back of the transer box. Sorry for not being very clear but he lives in Cornwall and I live in Bedford, long way between the two
  20. Would anyone on here have any information or books/manuals etc. about Land Rover Hydraulic Winches ? I have a mate who has one of these wiches and is looking for more information. All I can tell you is that it was a genuine LR optional extra, it has a date marked on it of FEB1965. TIA Ivan
  21. I just bolted a piece of wood behind the existing holes and used that to get the cetre. HTH Ivan
  22. Currently the Rolson ones are selling on E*ay for £52 + delivery HTH Ivan

    Series Discs

Awesome post, explains what's needed in a clear and concise manner. Thanks very much Gremlin. Once the measurements are up it will be off to my tame engineer to make me a pair. Rgds Ivan
  24. Originally I was not planning on a trip this year as I am moving to Australia later on. However, having read the Darrian Gap thread I fancy one last trip before I go. Anyone else interested ? Dates are flexible but somewhere between June and Spetember would be good. At the moment there is just SWIMBO and me, but would prefer it if there was a few other people as well. Plan is to go with Paul64 from the forum. Rgds Ivan
  25. For the winch I just got some paint from my local paintman. For a Warn winch the nearest colour is RAL7022. HTH Ivan
