  1. Take the seatbelts out. Just leave enough in to match your licence requirements (8). 110's can be up to 11 seats, nothing to say they have to have 11 seats. HTH Ivan
  2. Un-metalled ByWays are still public roads, in fact all Green Lanes, ByWays, BOATS etc that are still open to the public and therefore are public roads. HTH Ivan
  3. I see in the second pic that John is still carp at hide and seek Ivan
  4. Not sure here but, since the 200 and 300 had the same chassis, axles etc then I would have thought so. The 300 (I think) was purely a facelift model for the bodywork and engine. Maybe the part numbers refer to the V8 and Tdi versions ? Ivan
  5. I know Ashcrofts were showing the difference between their uprated CV and a standard CV at Billing last year. Maybe email Dave for details ? THT Ivan
  6. Personally I would not open them up. I did this with my old ones and trying to get the little ball bearings and springs back in the right place was a nightmare. New they sell for about £100 each. HTH Ivan
  7. The one in the first picture is for a Car with ABS. The spines are used by the ABS sensors. HTH Ivan
  8. EdF We have a Coleman overlander 4. Purchased it from Coleman in Australia. A nice big tent, very easy and quick to put up and it also folds down into a fairly small bag. It's not a backpack tent but it's very good. Has stood up to all sorts of weather. Includes fly (mossie) screens on all openings etc. RRP is 259AUD which is about £130 + shipping, duty and vat etc. But it still works out a fairly cheap tent. Probably be about £200 - £250 landed in the UK. Overlander 4 HTH Ivan
  9. I had a similar problem on my V8 Discovery. I found out it was one of the coolent hoses wher they fit into the back of the water pump had split. When on tickover it would not leak much but rev the engine a bit and it leaked much worse. The coolent was running down the valley under the plenum so you could not see it leaking. Other culprit could be the cap on the expansion tank. HTH Ivan
  10. A quick google for IMPCO brought up this link (among others) http://www.fordmods.com/forums/post823749.html It seems as though this system is common in Australia. Could try contacting the above link and see if you get any results. Could also try these people. HTH Ivan
  11. Good point Si, hadn't thought about that. It needs replumbing anyway as I am going to run it from a PTO. Thnx Ivan
  12. Not with the ARB winch bumper. Ivan
  13. I have a Milemarker winch that I want to fit to my 90 using an ARB winch bumper. Problem is the mountings on the Milemarker point towards the floor. Whereas the winch bumper is designed to take a forward mounting winch. Can you rotate the end caps on a milemarker ? If I fit it facing forward one of the levers will be underneath the winch and so inaccessible. Thnx Ivan
  14. I brought a pair of Fleabay. £50 for both and work well. They are common with Classic Rangies. HTH Ivan
  15. Ashcrofts will provide this service. Unfortunately they are based near Luton. Not sure about price though. Take a look at thier website THT Ivan
  16. Easy way to check your brake lights is to reverse up to a wall and put your foot on the pedal. You'll see the reflection in the rear view mirror. Ivan
  17. On my Disco I have it in the same place as PlasticBadger been through at least 4 MOT's with it there. Only got pulled up about it twice. Once in Libya at a Police checkpoint (where I just pretended I didn't understand what he was on about). And once in France when I was catching the Ferry back to England!!! (told the customs bloke not to bother me as I was going back anyway) Ivan
  18. The only place I know to get them from is MM4x4 (there are others but they were the cheapest). I think they are Engels though. I would be surprised if ARB sell something cheaper than the suppliers. HTH Ivan
  19. If it's like my Series 1 Disco then the lever should be in High and to the right. If the diff lock light does not go out then do what Nige said and take it up a grass verge until the light goes out. Often the light will not go out with the vehicle stationary. When my light used to stick on I sometimes reversed a bit (not on tarmac) until the light went out. HTH Ivan
  20. Not meant for me but wouldn't a change over relay do the job. Run the app off pin 87a and when the relay is energised pin 87a is disconneted. See here HTH Ivan
  21. Err FF it's a Disco. They both point the same way. Only Rangies had them different ways. At least as far as I know. Rgds Ivan
  22. Pretty sure it will fit OK. I fitted one to my E Reg 90 and it just bolted on. HTH Ivan
  23. I had a 300 TDI body fitted to my 200 Series Discovery no problems fitting it that I can recall. HTH Ivan
  24. Its not actually that difficult. Problem I had was that I fitted a 300 Series Diesel chassis to a 200 Series V8i. The hardest part was rewiring the engine. But, now I know more it's pretty simple. From what I remember there are 14 body mountnigs to be undone plus brake lines, steering etc. We disconnected everything and lifted the body using jack and some plasterers scaffold (H&S didn't come into it ). We then dropped the chassis onto it's discs and simply rolled it out from under the body (engine still in the car). It would be easier to take the engine out and refit it afterwards (don't need to lift the body as high) but we couldn't be bothered. We then just rolled the chassis under the doner body and refitted everything. As I said the hardest part was the rewiring as we swapped from Diesel to Petrol. But, when you think about it the only difference is the engine loom. Take out the Diesel one and fit the Petrol one, simple. Trouble I had was that I didn't have much tmie so spoke to a Land Rover eletrician about it and he said it can't be done as the engine was not designed for the nody! WTF. Eventually got it rewired and it's been running fine since. HTH Ivan
  25. My 2p worth. If you want to chat then phone someone up and chat. After all that's what telephones are for. I am very happy with this forum as it is. If a topic doesn't interest me I simply don't read it. I have learnt an awful lot since being on this forum and got to know a few people as well. I even have the confidence to try and reply to some posts, which I could not do 3 years ago as my knowledge was practically nil (probably not far from that now ). I was going to write an awful lot of other stuff but found myself just ranting over the people who just want to chat and get to know each other, so I'll not bother. This isn't really a chat forum I am sure there are plenty of others you can go to to get your fix. Sorry rant over. Ivan
