  1. Neil, i mentioned in a previous message that unfortunately i'm away for this one at work. We will be at the following on 12 June @ Wern Ddu. In order to do this i'm spending 4 week at sea instead of 3 and swapping that weekend with a co-worker so we can compete. Good luck, and i hope the entries come in for 3rd May. Gordon
  2. Does the TDS with a big drum have the same mounting footprint ? or is it a wider winch ? Cheers Gordon p.s. Britpart solenoids don't work underwater....doh !
  3. Ignore me, found the link to the russian microcat High pressure : QED100130 QED100120 & Low pressure : QED100100 QED100110 For the 3 if anyone is interested. Gordon
  4. I've just wiped this machine and not installed microcat. Could someone please tell me the part number or size of the o rings used on a disco 2 power steering box. They fit the pipes from the pump into the box and the box back to the tank. The ones in our little boxes are all too skinny Cheers Gordon
  5. Si - from a couple years ago Just a couple pneumatic valves
  6. Been through all the gears before going into park and checking the level ? G
  7. 5 litres is about right on a change. you do know when checking the level the engine must be idling ? G
  8. Nige - my milemarkers already have air rams on them, High - Free - Low all in one switch
  9. Evening, Not LR related, sorry My brother is looking for another cage for his track day peugeot 106. OMP do a chromoly weld in cage. I've been searching google, and have read mixed reviews about not using mig on it ? What are peoples thoughts ? If it's tig...then i'll get him to buy the half welded cage to save us work ! Cheers Gordon
  10. Cheers for the replies. I do have a superwinch X9 with bow 1 that needs an overhaul, but not sure how fast this is ? i've fallen over a few times recently so it's used for getting me back on my wheels ! G
  11. Morning, Our centre winch is a bit slow and i can't activate freespool from within the cab... So tempted in changing it. Which brings me to two questions : Which winch is relatively fast and has an in cab (preferably air) freespool option - it has to be able to spool off freely, due to going through the centre hawse and then 90 degrees off to the winch man. It can't be an 8274 as i only have a mount point for the normal style. What are the goodwinch tds's like ? How freely do the drums rotate in freespool ? And how fast are they winching in with / without load ? I run a 5.5 yellow top 12v with 100A alt and don't wish to upgrade the electrics any more as my front n rear winches are hydraulic. We currently have a britpart 9500 in their, and as much as this may come as a surprise it is damn reliable and always worked - just a little slow ! Thanks Gordon
  12. That's the thermostat. There are no filters on the cooling system.
  13. Towing trailers on these 2 lane autobahns is a right pain in the butt ! I got done for speeding on the autobahn with a trailer
  14. Ditto above - useful for longer vehicles. Back home we didn't have motorways, only what you class here as A roads. If you were going to pull out to overtake, you might give a quick flash so the person in front knows you're about to come past. i've not really seen this done here in the UK G
  15. To add to the above, is the timing correct ? I've replied to nige's thread - in that i run a rear mounted rad with standard pump on my 4.2 and it cools perfectly in the back - big ally rad and peugeot 306 fans (similar to mondeo). (challenge truck) G

  17. Same place as us hey ?
  18. You might get another 4.5% back if you use quidco ? - http://www.quidco.com/halfords-in-store
  19. On the road yes...but in our challenge scene here in the UK your speed is not enough to help. G
  20. Was a good day, thanks Neil Beautiful weather ! Thanks to all involved. We're missing the next one due to work, but will see you all again at wern ddu on 12th june. G one little picture, that wasted us a fair bit of time sorting ! doh !:
  21. Nige, I use nitrile gloves both here in the garage (which are petrol and brake fluid friendly) as well as at work where we drill with an oil based fluid. In both cases normal latex don't work but these do - for a while, but not for too long. Or how about something like marigolds out the kitchen ? G
  22. where is everyone ? G
