I just a get a nice comfortable feeling sitting amongst fellow anoraks!! the one thing I find unique to this forum is given the vast range of interests (from extreme suspension and mods through to basic maintanance) the amount of respect given to all is realy great. Given some of my dozy questions nobody has yet made me feel like a pillock (the wife does that job! ) I know all things must change and revenue may be required to keep the forum going however if the changes are done "tastefully" I can't see why it can't be done. white90 Posted December 19, 2006 Share Posted December 19, 2006 From the Treasurer: Nothing needs or will be changed to raise funds for the site. we have plenty of members who have donated to the forum and we have enough in the kitty for a good while yet. anyone wishing to view the accounts can do so by dropping in to my house(prior appointment required) After the hell that was the old place closing, this place will always be totally independent with no pay masters to please or dictatorial lunatics to appease. Could we have a thing that tells you what threads have new posts on them since your last visit like the old LRO forum. I found that really useful.Mo Dont forget the Subscribe option also, it will email you if a selected topic is replied too, also, the view new posts tab on the top right is a very easy way of browsing the forum if you are on a flying visit (IMHO).And please don't do anything like that god awfull creation LRO call a new forum!! pugwash Posted December 20, 2006 Share Posted December 20, 2006 I don't understand what use this would be? this doesn't seem to cause agro anywhere else- the only place it causes any sort of problem is in the pirate4x4 where you can't search for things unless you have paid your money. i think those that have spent money have shown that they really appreciate this place and are the people that form the core of this site- i'm not bothered by how much that money is (as i am sure people give whatever they feel is appropriate to them), but it would be nice to see who has committed to the site. it's really a non-issue on all the other self funded sites- jeez even the loonies on ORRP can manage this without buggering it up too much. Cobraclub is also doing the same thing. [edited to say] not sure why you should feel unwelcome- all the other forums i've been on that are self funded are much more interesting as the people are friendlier- if you don't value the forum then don't pay anything it's really that simple. There's a lot more to this website than a £ sign. A bit of free advice could save you hundreds of pounds in some circumstances, so a simple sentence has a greater value by far.
