So, yesterday while watching this j**p climbing this hill (very impressive 4.0 straight six automatic, with lots of power)

After a few seconds of lot of wheelspin, there was a loud bang and no more wheel spin.

One end of the prop was sitting on the ground.

The face of the diff flange had been drilled and tapped.

2 of the bearing cups on the UJ spider were held on by these wonderous brackets bolted to the flange.

Yes, that is a large washer, spot welded to the bracket to hold the bearing cup if the spider :o

Imagine if that lot had parted company at road speed :o :o :o :o :angry:
