Right

With SWMBO away on work, I have piled into what remains, and then some :D

So, Rad fitted, fans wired up with new loom, twin fans wired to twin IP67 "On / Off / Rad temp sensor" switches x 2 with

2 x differing sensors ranges as mentioned above had dash off for all sort of stuff, sorting out old wiring pre me getting it and removing etc

Have also fitted a Mud Sport roof consolde to bare roof (no headlining) and a 5mm Silicone rubber matting stuck on roof to try to help loose

the" V8 Buscuit tin" effort, and console modified with switches for rev lights and a engine mod wiring is there just got to se if idea works - more later

Interior light as never had one is also done.

Loads of wires now taped up and engine is now pretty much done bar some double checking and road miles to a run in and b test radiaitor and fans

Fingers crossed

Anyway, as SWMBO off, back to the workshop for some rear twin worklights and a load of harness taping 'stack' water guage fitted and sorted

Will test drive this week and post up some video for those interested

Hopefully the alirad will sort the cooling, if not then is a electric water pump and if that fails then its a rear rad etc

So, fingers crossed

John E says on this engine 80 -85 is good, over 85 power will drop a bit ( ) no serioulsy thats what he says

90 - 95 is entering Hmmmmmm Country and over 95 - 100 is getting too hot 100 + is dangerous ...

Was getting 80-85 cruising, when the loud pedal hit the floor it jumped to 95 in 30 seconds, back off and it came down albiet slowly

So, evreything has been done to set target temp at 80-85 degrees ....

We shall see, end of the week, as I have a raft of other bits I want sorted !

Roof console is looking good :) How's it attached?

3 x bolts through roof and silicone rubber sheet with sealant, 2 x windscreen sunvisors bolts and 3 x bolt in each of the gutterings

The 5mm silicone sheet did NOT make up for the fact that this is designed to go in a 90 with a headling, so I have had to machine

ali spacers etc to take up the gaps, but the centre has none and is just dogged up with 3 x bolts and 5mm silicone ! The 2 x tabs in

the centres of each pocket are going to be removed and filed flat, they need a 15mm spacer and frankly its more than secure and

removing them will give more practical use and access - until it was all fitted and in place i was unsure...now its 'file time' :)

Lovely bit of kit, well made and very practical as my set up + mudconsole is pressure washer friendly :D

Yeah 80-85 is definitely the sweet spot, just right, not too toasty :D

They go a bit flat too warm, mine used to run too hot on electric fans and it wasn't as crisp.

Viscous all the way for me now to be fair, plus leccy fans lower surface area of radiator! Could you duct yours to a viscous at all for better efficiency?

I know fan ducts are a pain, i ditched mine cos with the 4 row radiator it never has to work that hard I guess on a dump spec 3.5, but the viscous draws more air than an electric could dream of, although I guess at least with electric you can force them on.

With your new rads extra capacity and efficiency you will hopefully squeeze by on the stock pump.

At least the rad will supply plenty if not surplus cool water now, just hope the pump can shift enough of it! :D

A ickle update

Have done some road miles now.

Had a few oil weeps (vs leaks) which I have tracked down 1 by 1, have a tiny weep on an aeroquip joint - so given up and am replacing it, it was a reused one so may

have just gotten dmaged a tad maybe. If I tighten it any more its just going to sheer !. Unfortunately its a special and has to be order in.

Water leaks seem to be sorted, mainly again just weeps as thing settled. I have a rocker gasket wep, where the rubber gasket must have moved on being done

up, prob is its the one under the Air box  .....prob weekend after next job.

Fuelling is now 90% sorted, a tad rich but needs more logging maybe, but it goes "well"

I have ordered a Video camera windscreen mounting, should be here in next few days, I will then as many have asked do a short "In side" driving video

Hows your buikld going Mr warne :P

:4rofl:

Needs around 1000 mikles to bed engine in, and I wnat to sort ALL oil / water weeps etc and final shake downs before going and burying it off road and then finding I have a problem

In the meantime everytime I go out in it I have a huge grin .........

Video is comething shorltly......

Righty Ho then Porn fans.

With some tuning done plugs regapped and a few weeps and dribbles sorted (one left still :( ) it was video time

Tolok the 90 out and warmed it up, there is a piece of road as you leave our village that has no turnings left or

right and is a 60 limit, so perfect

Checked nothing in front and nothing behind, and then floored it to 60 MPH. Have no idea of the 0-60 time but its quick for 2 tons

of unaerodynamic bunglaow .............

Enjoy (I did)

I shout when it hits 60 and hold it there
