Here in SA the licensing authorities have realised that they can make money out of this. So, if no-one else has it, on payment of R6000 (428 GBP) you can have LANDY GP or exerciseER GP (the GP stands for Gauteng Province and all plates have that suffix or one for another province). The second example above is typical of the type of person who does this. I think the plate has to be 5 or 6 characters/numbers.

In New South Wales (and most other states of Oz) you can get fully personalised 6 letter/number plates - It was originally started as an earner for accident research, but I'm not sure now.

Of course there are plenty of FULSIC type plates on the doof doof rice burners :blink:

but the best I have seen so far was on 2 plumber/drainer trucks parked next to each other;

I know it was a while age now but I haven't been here long so.

Here's all the pictures I took at 2006 Billing, a lot from the off road course by the water dip. If anyone sees their own vehicle and would like the Hi-res version (2576x1932 pixels) for personal use only Please get in touch with the Image Name (100_xxxx)

Pictures are here

I'm not a professional, just happen to have a good quality camera and a quick trigger finger :)

EDIT: I've already seen there's at least one of "TAZ 90" in there (although that gets every ruddy where ;))

Cheers,

David.

Quite a few forum members trucks in these photos: 1745 is KBE's 90, 1752 is Porny's 90, 1753 is AndyLandy's 90, 1858 is Sugg's hybrid,

[Extremely sad geek moment]

I've worked on these two cars

100_1703.jpg

Its very sad remembering reg numbers of cars you've worked on :rolleyes:

I've nothing like such a good memory for reg numbers, but I think I may have borrowed the one on the left for a weekend a while back. Was it a support vehicle on the last but one Land Rover G4 Challenge? Hmm - looking at it I'm thinking not, that's an 07MY, isn't it? So it was one of it's predecessors I drove.

Umm, no and no (I think). Its not an 07 model year, nor was it built/registered early enough to be used on the last but one (ie first) G4. This car was built for publicity shots for last years event, but may have gone on to do the second G4 (last year), I dont know

Okay, got my facelifts mixed up :rolleyes:

At least I spotted it was too late a model to be the one I borrowed... Looks like its kitted out much the same though. Borrowing that truck was what got me into Land Rovers (albeit much cheaper ones :ph34r: ).
