Soren Frimodt
TV is time you could be spending doing something valuable..... But don't forget its brilliant for killing time when your licking the wounds that your hobby gives you A bit of a mixed update this, first a picture of how to get attention at a car Show: Then a picture showing how badly my 300Tdi Disco wants to breath: And finally a picture of a burnout: Done by what? you might say, well the slowest burnout machine ever made I think the parking brake works?
Lewis
Caspers trayback looks great Nice burnout! I love ultra low gearing, my underdrive is great fun for driving up ridiculous obstacles

deep
One lukewarm tyre?
Bowie69
One warm-beer tyre?
Soren Frimodt
Actually, the tyre didn't even get warm to the touch Well this beast have been put on the backburner for a short while, the Jag needs to get some attention so its ready for, hopefully, some nice long roadtrips this summer No better car in the world for cruising to an offroad event as a spectator. Grace, Space and Pace remember? Anywho, thought it would be a bit fun to show the buggy next to the 80", really shows how small it is even though it seems big, and also how low it is: The 80" is on 33's and buggy on 35's, so the difference would be even less on equal tyres, but look at the difference in clearance! steve b
That's a good comparison pic Soren , I'm looking forward to seeing some video of you and it (name inserted here) in action my name choice : Lightfoot cheers Steveb
landroversforever
Well I'd totally misunderstood the size of it! How cute!
Soren Frimodt
yeah it does look rather big when standing by itself, I think it,must be because of the all the open space and tall belly. Either way I too was surprised at how little difference there is between the two. Lightfoot is a great name, but the problem is that there's already a formula off road car called that, and it would be a disgrace to name this slow thing the, same was thinking a bit about 'Betty' this combined with its black color might be suitable? What do you think? Other suggestions are more than welcome
Bowie69
Given it is Mog axles and VW engine/gearbox, Mogdub?
Soren Frimodt
haha good one Bowie did think about including brand names, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep that engine? Always been in love with Alfa engines but could of course rename it when/if I change the engine
landroversforever
MiniMog? or MicroMog?

Anderzander
Given that Mog is slang for a cat - and that's small how about something like 'kitty' ?
Soren Frimodt
Time for another update. The Jag has been serviced so this thing have been brought back in from the cold Got the lockers hooked up, on hydraulics as per factory, however I've added a couple of valves so I can control which axle to lock or not: Then it was time to finalize the intake: And then I added an extra mount to the parking brake caliper, just to be sure: My old man bought this cheap chinese "GTI" Emblem with a jumping Bunny on the end and told me to fit it Very suiting as it is neither a GTI or quick It does fit quite nicely on there though, suppose I know what engine to put in it next winter then
Soren Frimodt
Well nothing tells you to get your finger out your ar$e like a birdsnest developing on your gearbox! So pulled it into my old mans workshop today: And started to work my way into the Oil filter housing which had developed a leak: With that sorted I moved on to lowering the suspension. Was able to remove just over an inch in rideheight due to the clearance-ing I did on the sump. You might not be able to tell from the picture, but it really does look a lot better. landroversforever
Got any pictures of what you've done to the sump Sören?they're my pet subject at the moment!
Soren Frimodt
There should be pictures further back in this thread. However I don't think you can use my experience for your problem, as I've already compensated a lot by fitting the engine diagonally. Your conundrum is a whole other thing, as I wasn't limited to an already dictated body shape
landroversforever
Just interested to see . Mine is a world of packaging pain!
Soren Frimodt
Spent yesterday travelling to the otherside of Denmark, to watch some racing. So didn't get anything done until today. Which was quite a lot though. Fitted a radiator that wasn't leaking And the expansion tank as well: And after a bit of testdriving a steering damper was fitted: After even more testdriving a cover for the brakelight switch and small lip to rest my heels on where fitted: My brother just bought a new toy yesterday, so I decided to see if it could lift my new buggy (which of course was nothing for this machine ) And finally I made brackets for fitting my Anchor: Reason for doing this right now was it was part of my weight distribution/balance experimenting while testing the "handling" Now I really need some long hill climbs to test it properly on, so need to find a suitable day/spot for that! landroversforever
Would be interesting to see how far it can be pushed on a side slope!
Soren Frimodt
Yes very much so! I have a feeling I will find out this Summer though But usually builds with Mog axles tend to be very well planted to the ground, and this thing being so light in all the rest should behave very well off camber. But time will tell. Today I initiated a little experiment, I wan't to be able to see as much of the wheels and other mechanical parts as possible while driving, but don't won't to be covered in mud. So I'm thinking about fitting Lexan to as the floorboards, but of course the risk is that they'll get so dirty and scratched that they'll be impossible to see through very quickly. Therefore I've fitted some much cheaper Plexi glass to get an idea of how it'll work without spending the big money right away. Even though I pre-drilled and preheated they still cracked on me, Plexi is a right pain to work with!
