  1. I use viewranger on iOS devices and would recommend it.
  2. I need to do something with my back door, but need a little help. There is quite a bit of sideways play in the bottom two hinges - is it still worth trying new pins or does the sideways play point to hinge being ovalled? I have a wheel carrier - but I've just noticed that as the door comes open all the doorside hinges lift up a bit, with a bit of a clunk. Are the hinges meant to open and lift like that ? Can't say I've looked that closely on any other Defender. I'm sort of wondering if the wheel carrier is pulling it out of alignment. I've also got a little rattle coming from the latch - if I press it there is a bit of inward movement when it's **** and this seems to translate to a clunk or rattle on potholes. I presume this is a case of adjusting the stop ? Though its best to wait until the hinges are fixed I would think.
  3. Is it not though, also that whoever pays for it will be unlikely to get it - or at least get something matching that description ?
  4. I don't think it's petty. I can't find the plain type on the over lander site - so I've sent them a mail.
  5. Giggle pin seem to do them and the price is much better than I thought: http://gigglepin4x4.net/safari-equip-defender-90-rock-sliders-369-p.asp
  6. Excuse my naïveté - but how do people like this just keep getting away with doing the same thing over and over ?
  7. No prices at the moment ? http://www.safari-equip.co.uk/shop/index.php/defender/rock-sliders/rock-sliders-with-jacking-points-90.html
  8. I'm leaning towards the paddocks galv. sliders at the moment. They look well made and aren't expensive. I'm thinking either powdercoat or spray in body colour.
  9. I think it depends what you are rubbing them against ... I've had powdercoated things that have been incredibly durable, but they've always been properly done.
  10. Yes - I found the trick was to keep it lubricated.
  11. I read about the heat - it said the heat made the glue stick to the tint rather than the window. It did the opposite. Everywhere I heated it the tint came away leaving the vast majority of the glue on the window - everywhere I didn't heat was better. I used loads of window cleaner and half a dozen single sided razor blades. Like these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/361057318228
  12. I bought Bilstein bushes direct from Bilstein in the UK. Took a few calls to make it happen - but a great price and all neatly labelled in little poly bags :-)
  13. What are your plans with it then ? Spares or repair?
  14. And to think of all the money I've wasted on replacing ball joints, when I could have just used a bit of baler twine !
  15. I need to be more diligent with the drain tap
  16. Ooo - I didn't realise it could take two. A tells tart and a timer would appear to cover all bases. Be nice if I could get an all in one fob.
  17. I'm not sure if this is it - but I found these people: http://www.heavydutyseatcovers.co.uk/store/RANGE_ROVER_70_To_94_CAR_SEAT_COVERS.html It's not HDC but it struck me HDC could be Heavy Duty Covers which is virtually the company name ?
  18. I've got one to fit next service - which should be next weekend. I bought it straight from FEMCO and from memory it was a little cheaper.
  19. This may be a daft question - but I bought an air cut off tool and I'm wondering why it seems to stall so easily. My compressor is 14cfm - almost twice the figure quoted as needed. There is an adjustment (pressure?) on there that I haven't fiddled with - so is this that I may have the pressure set wrong or are they all just like that?
