  1. Maybe something like this would be ok - swap the rigid nozzle for a pipe .... http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=361014756179
  2. I think I've seen those Mikey - are they quite expensive though ?
  3. Thanks both ... The only issues with the cylinder is getting one and setting it up ..? I've done the bottle thing before I got the pump - I kept crushing the bottle and popping the pipe off my totally bodges adaptor !
  4. The sure thing is it wouldn't be a Land Rover But that's not helping win any wives over ....
  5. Ok - White Spirit works to clean the brushes ...... .....and the paint is lovely. Really easy to work with - with good prep and some care you could get an excellent finish with it. It's got that consistency where you can put it on quite thinly and the brush marks still fall out of it. Reminds me of watching my Dad coach paint classic bikes - except he could really do it. I'm going to do one more coat - and then see how it gets on with wear and tear.
  6. I have been using one of these for quite a while to fill my Diffs and Transfer Box with oil : It's good - but must be made for a fluid of much lower viscosity, so using it can be quite a work out. So I was wondering if there was something that I could run off my compressor to do the job ? First thoughts were a shutz Waxoyl type gun - with the end nozzle replaced by the pipe and hook from my hand pump. Is there something else more suited ? Or any issues with the plan ?
  7. <tumbleweed moment due to DVLA online database>
  8. Well I went for the combicolour, which came today. It comes in all RAL colours and seems widely regarded - so I'll give it a go. What do folk who use it use to thin it and clean their brushes ? The Rustoleum thinners product has some xylene in it and a load of things I don't have an idea about ..... But the VW guys (who use it a lot) just use white spirit ? http://www.club80-90.co.uk/pages/downloads/tech/paintfor%A350.pdf http://www.rustoleumdirect.co.uk/hs/rustoleum/Rustoleum%207301%20CombiColor%20Thinner.pdf Any pointers would be welcomed
  9. A lot of the EA vehicles had Ramsey electric winches ..... Is this anything like yours : http://m.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_492932_492932
  10. I'm not sure it does look like that ..... I have one of those remotes and the receiver is a a small plastic box .... What make of winch was on the land rover ? That may give a pointer to who fitted it.
  11. I've an unused hd prop I need to work out what it is to sell ..... So thank you for the link it will help a lot
  12. I don't know how to help - but thought to say that I once had a piece of software to permanently delete data - and one of its facilities to was also to recover deleted data. So perhaps you could widen your search to data deletion freeware ?
  13. I think I remember they used to - not sure what point you're making though ?
  14. I don't see many rims with anything beyond surface rust ? Perhaps there's no need ?
  15. You know - I've always thought that (aside from the membership) one of the greatest assets of this forum are those 'learn with Les' threads .... They are brilliant. I wonder if they are prominent enough ? As they are there to lead new members into the heart of what this forum seems to be - servicing and modifying your own truck. I know they helped me enormously (Thanks Les!) So at the risk of being an arse - is it worth building on what has started here and having a tidy up of the tech area : The common mods / tips area above, a DIY service forum, and a tech archive that is tech - but not 'how to' guides.
  16. Lots on the Intermittent wiper mod, such as: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=68527 A write up of the relay swap too : http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stage1v8/Technical110FrontWiperRelay.htm
  17. Clutch pedal spring: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=81584 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=43688&hl=%2Bclutch+%2Bpedal%C2%A0 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=37131 And here is someone's write up : http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stage1v8/Technical110PedalMods.htm
  18. Are you sure that the green isn't from the rear wash wipe ? I thought the lighter sockets were all 3 wires ...
  19. That's the other one mentioned in there isn't it - move the axle radius arm mounts closer together on one side. It's not in that linked thread - but that chap from Pirate called Buck ran his 90 like that years ago and worked well it seems. Not sure if that would be allowed in your build over in NZ though ?
  20. You're right and I think the bottom line is they don't want to invest in it.
