Would it not be worth doing it just for the standard PID's ? Were the non-standard pid's for the SRS, ABS, ETC, HDC, TRACS, EAS, ETC, ACC, SLABS and BECM ?
What options are there for obtaining the non standard PID's? I expect access to a Rovacom or Nanocom wouldn't yield them without a lot of work?
Bishbosh,
Where did you source the 6mm ones? I'm about to pull the weights off mine (those that haven't already been knocked off on the lanes) and give the beads a try.
From what I can gather Nanocom were developing an improved version - but it went way way over the date it was due to be released and they stopped updating their web site and stopped replying to emails ..... so it kind of looks like they have gone now.
The biggest thing that puts me off Hawkeye is that you have to pay again to unlock other vehicle types..
Some idiots have been driving into the woods off a nice little local Lancashire lane. I've been talking to the Rights of Way Officer though and the result is that the lane is being kept open, signs have been put up, some of the idiots were identified and visited by the Police - and now we're looking for volunteers to come down and help out with repairs on Sunday the 11th.
There is a thread here about it: http://www.lro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54583
Here's a post I made outlining how folk can help: http://www.lro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=492970&highlight=#492970
So if you want to meet some like minded folk, do some good work and help keep a lane open, post up on either this thread or the other or drop me a pm if you want some more info.
Thank you!
The exceptions to the NERC have been invoked! ... Though it may only be a narrow window before a TRO.
The 3 link, x springs and gwyn kit was a kind experiment to see how far I could get by trying to keep an even weight balance and all 4 wheels on the floor.
Going out that day kind of pointed out how far it had come.
I posted a couple of videos onto youtube that I thought I'd put here.
First one is of getting a Discovery that is standard except for its wheels through a rock cutting, second one is mine with the 3 link, std height, but long travel shocks.
To fit just the blanking plate you'd need to disable the EGR itself - otherwise it'll open and suck in unfiltered air from the loose end.
Can't remember what year your Landy is - you either need to just buy a straight through replacement EGR pipe (with gasket) - or that and two more blanking plates.
Be prepared to replace the allen bolts on the exhaust manifold and be very careful taking them out. My advice would be soak them in plus gas (you can get at the threads from the back is they fit in a straight through hole) and ensure you have a very good fitting allen bit when you take them out.
How you blank off the solenoid vacuum will depend on what year your Td5 is - as per above.
My recommendation would be don't bother and just fit the heavy duty rods.
If you drive in mud they act like a plough - they don't protect the track rod from impact, often the drag link can still be impacted behind the back edge - and they offer no protection to the rods of course from impacts on the wheels.
Excuse me asking a question, but does anyone make any really plain looking head units?
They always seem to have chrome and colours and bright displays. I'd kind of like something that's a bit more discreet.
