  1. You could speak to Britpart. They import a lot of stuff from Aus Return load costs
  2. Firstly, don't BBQ on a wild camp. Remember in the UK and Wales, you are trespassing, unless you have the land owners permission. Nothing winds a land owner up more than flames. There's a guy on You Tube, with a Jimney (new style) who camps in his vehicle - actually looks very comfortable Wild camping on lanes is difficult. There's rarely any room. Ideally you want to camp in the vehicles footprint, so inside or underneath; or very close to, but out of the ruts/mud. Have you looked at Hammocks? I have an awning. Just a cheap unbranded version of the generic chinese one that ARB use. It's 3m long by 2.5m pull out. I mount it to Roof bars. Works fine. Easy to remove. I use it for static wild camping - useually for long periods of foot travel. Awnings are never as easy to set up as they look, added to which they don't like bad weather. And , again, as mentioned before, there needs to be room for them at the side of a lane. When I lane camp, I use a basha, or two, a bouncing bomb in a bivvy bag, with additional face net and a folding camp bed. I've done that in the snow, torrential rain and fine days. It's a fifteen minute set up and very comfy. I do have an air pocket matress for the bed, as my back is shot. Everything is done for the fast get away, as it's a criminal offence to obstruct the highway. Food is cooked, in a slow cooker, during the day (actually two slow cookers. both drawing 200w). No alchohol is consumed... Far better to find a site like Nash Oaklands, Cocco's or Gaerwen, then just use a tent
  3. He's building another workshop - unless planning has fallen through
  4. Not neccessarily a right off. A number of engine specialist companies are using a cemical sealant (much like liquid metal, to fix cracks in heads. Mainly engines like TD5's, but it would beworth asking a few
  5. John is moving workshops. All of the enourmous stock of second hand bits is for sale. Bearing in mind they go back to the days of early chariots... I rang him yesterday, on the lookout for the holy grail of Disco 200 parts, the drivers door handle. He asked me if I wanted chrome or black. It cost me a donation to Rhino Ark. Fair enough, I've known John since I was a boy (yes, that long) Just saying
  6. Look at quechua pop ups https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/3-person-pop-up-tent-2-seconds/_/R-p-3349?mc=8492687&utm_term=8492687-2558275&&iv_=__iv_p_1_g_65720157311_c_316396756461_w_pla-295628808180_n_g_d_c_v__l__t__r_x_pla_y_15177021_f_online_o_8492687-2558275_z_GB_i_en_j_295628808180_s__e__h_1006524_ii__vi__&gclid=CjwKCAjwp9qZBhBkEiwAsYFsb1NPGaqeDDJ3LzB6E3UAnqX3E7B_W5h6fjElgoKJNnjMRhoaZ17GPRoC3CAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Simple, relatively cheap and ludicrously weather proof. I put mine through hell, for ten years. The guy I gave it to still does.
  7. I must try and get there next time. I love looking at the pictures and trying to remember where that bit was/is, then working out how much it's changed. Fridge, remind me to show you guys a little trick I've been working on using a kinetic rope attached to a winch. It works so well I'm teaching it the SARS boys. Excellent for lower speed winches and big stucks
  8. Red do some lovely things, but all very , very , very expensive and I for one wouldn't buy from them (even if I had the money) on moral grounds. These boys design and fit commercial set up for vehicles - including all those nice Land ROver 110's and 130's used by electricity companies. As they are SOmerset based, they are warm, pleasant and generous with infomation and not too expensive: https://www.rotec.net/
  9. What you need is a SIdewinder. Weird winch. Actually suprisingly effective. Rare as a rare thing. Especially over here https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/vic-hickey-sidewinder-winch-refurb.938593/
  10. What Waldorf said. Swags are fine in the dry. When it's wet, then you need an awning to put the swag under
  11. Until the engine stops - which is where this came from
  12. If it's coming out that quick, chuck in a bit of brake fluid
  13. I was quoting form the manufacturer
  14. Just to confirm, yes the Jay (200 series) Disco screen fits. Ther are differences in the black out areas. Windscreens are still made by pilkington, although a heated screen is no longer available. Britpart do a seal kit, but it doesn't have enough filler strip in it. The filler strip is available from various classic car suppliers I bought my last screen from Autoglass for £75
  15. I am a disco fan (except the 5) and I really like it
  16. Electro-hydraulic back up is viable and uses less electricity. First four used to sell a nice in tank pump - bascially a Bow 1
  17. At that money, I'll probably get another filtermag. I had one for years, then, one of the very few times I entrusted a garage to do an oild change for me, guess what happened....
  18. There's a bloke down here, who does exceptional work. Not stupid money. Even did a job of perfection on my mate's Lincoln welder. I can get his number if you want
  19. There's a huge difference in the quality of filters
