  1. September 18th is fast approaching so for those in the UK with ankle biters it's probably worth taking a look at the new regulations which come into force then. .pdf document here
  2. Thin to suit, the white spirit will just evaporate.
  3. Yus white spirit is ok and better than warming it up. If you don't have an underseal / Schutz gun then you can get away with an ordinary spray gun too. Machine Mart and the like sell sub twenty quid underseal guns that include an extension probe for getting into all those internal nooks and crannies. The DIY hand applicators that they sell for Waxoyl are something of a joke but if you don't have a compressor then you are somewhat limited. Oh, and don't forget a plastic sheet to catch all the drips
  4. This has been discussed before somewhere IIRC. I'd rather have an air circulation to allow things a chance to dry out rather than having the possiblity of trapping moisture behind foam.
  5. A guy local to me died recently after succumbing to septicaemia brought on by picking up an infection from a rabbit whilst out shooting. I know that there are others on here who are involved in fieldsports too so thought I’d bring this story to your attention just in case you have missed it in the national and sporting press. More info here
  6. The bonnet has definitely got the hump <groan>
  7. That's a coincidence as I needed to look up 3.5 V8 4G0598** (where likewise ** are digits that I've removed) this afternoon but couldn't find anything in that range.
  8. This is a recent one for me too as the cylinder on my 127/130 started to get a bit spongey so I replaced it about a month ago. Theere was a changeover in the 1990 models.
  9. Personally I couldn't care less what he has done with his vehicle, what he uses it for or why. Perhaps the scorn being directed at this chap could be better channelled bearing in mind all the cr@p and misinformation concerning 4x4's thrown around in the press and amongst some of the environmental groups. United we stand and all that.
  10. Thanks for the advice Presumably that means it was taken with a PHONE then
  11. The question is do I need another eye test or is that scan fuzzy?
  12. I imagine a groovy and hip thing to do is to take the old prop to a specialist and get the man to breath his magic smoke on it. Peace - make love not war man.
  13. Bluddy fastracs all over the place around these parts - especially when it's hauling sugar beet to the local sugar factory time.
  14. I've got one on one of my cars and have found it ok but like all electrical / battery contacts it does need to be kept clean and corrosion free. I like to keep my battery terminals smeared in petroleum jelly or that red ant corrosion gel anyway.
  15. There is a battery isolator / anti theft device that fits on the battery + terminal and has a knob which when removed disconnects the battery. There is a version whish has a fused low current permanent supply for radios etc too.
  16. Yup, I've done them that way too, saves a lot of bother if it's only the seal you want to do.
