  1. Quick guide to rivets here
  2. What they recommend about animals and fireworks obviously doesn't apply in the States.
  3. I trust the dumb blonde was eager to reward you for your chivalrous behaviour?
  4. Not so and somewhat unfair. The charter is still very much work in progress - work that has to be fitted in and around the real life stuff that goes on away from the forum. I undertook to help drafting the thing but have not been in the best of health recently - apologies for not being able to meet a schedule that I was unaware existed
  5. Another excellent post for the archives Les.
  6. Similar piece on Radio 4's Today prog this morning including an interview with one of the researchers (who sounded about 15), I think I heard her say the research observations were carried out during the period of grace after the phone law was introduced.
  7. I once did a lengthy post on a now defunct forum on how I go about Waxoyling. I think I kept a copy on disc so should be able to dig it out and post it if anyone is interested.
  8. Thanks for the reminder Steve.
  9. Being over 40 and British I naturally think in MPG.
  10. Saturday I fitted some driving lamps above the windscreen on Mog1 and revised / beefed up the old ambulance sign wiring to power them. fitted and wired up a couple of spigot beacon mounts to replace the old one that I cut out when I fitted a roof vent last week. Perspired a lot Paid a quick visit to the BLRC's off road show at Bircham Newton yesterday. When I got back I removed the 40x40cms roolight / vent that I fitted two or three years back and replaced it with a snazzy one which has a three speed suck or blow fan in it and made up a harness to feed power it off the aux battery. Cut some insulation ready to install in the overcab area. Perspired a lot.
  11. They were obviously out taking Scooby Doo for his walkies
  12. They're good but I prefer the studs as it makes it easier or tidier if you want to take a spur off the battery feed in the future
  13. In the past I've cased them in corrugated split sheathing first then secured the whole lot along the chassis frame terminating them with a pair of insulated studs on brackets inside the rear loadspace of the vehicle. From the studs I've then run short cables to the secondary battery setup.
  14. Saturday I coughed and hacked a lot, took painkillers and the steroid spray I have to have every day then suddenly remembered that I'd forgotten to MoT and tax this ready for some commitments soon so rang up our local testing place who said I could take it in anytime. 10 mins later I'd cranked it up, dusted it off and was driving onto the brake rollers and a bit later I was coming back with a pass certificate Soon after that I'd re taxed it and giving it a run to pick up some marker lights for Supervised my 8 year old as he drilled the holes after which I then wired up and fitted the lights. Finished off fitting a couple of 12v power outlet sockets into the control box I'd made up before I was struck down with the pukes and squits a few days back. Got a lot of stuff that was cluttering up the place away in the garage loft. Sunday was mostly spent coughing and walking around the Woolpit Steam fair.
  15. Wonder how much they would take for it - or will they get all snotty and want it to go out via the trade?
  16. Is he selling his white stick and labrador too?
  17. Blame Les - he asked No2 - that is you are right about the laptop not No2 as in ...oh well never mind. The doc said to avoid food and stick to drinking water and I'm not sure I could manage a whole one in one sitting but if you say it works then I might give it a try.
  18. I've had rather too much focus on my butt over the past couple of days thanks
