Bulkhead and doors are gone. The rest of the body isnt bad but the paint is worn so basically all of the body needs something doing to it as new doors and old body wont match. Mechanically its sound. Bushes are good, clutch isnt that old so, apart from new brake and and fuel lines I will just be transferring the mechanicals and running gear over.

I'm about to start stripping the body on mine. Its being taken down to components and they will all be resprayed. Its getting new doors and a new bulkhead at the same time so I figured this was the best way to get a good finish.

Sleeps four what? Very friendly Munchkins?

Its ok - i am sure the mod did an internal hazmat type blanket system for this

Is it correct that 2.2= DPF and 2.4 does not? Worth considering if someone can confirm. I daresay the presence of one lowers VED but the price of replacement is ridiculous.

I was going to reply earlier with similar comments to what you have found here. LRs idea of additional creature comforts werent things like cruise control or AC, it was menial things like an extra gap on the ratchet to recline the front seat half a degree further (i made that up but it was this level of thought). Thats why I set about making my 110 what I wanted. I will add cruise one day. I will never get as far as aircon. Rust proofing and steel quality was also dire/worse respectively on the later models chassis.

I dont know how it would finish but I would sikaflex some ali off cuts to the inside of the panel behind the holes and then a skim of filler on the outside and paint.

I test drove a new Puma when swmbo considered one. The salesman was quite disappointed when I pointed to my battered looking 200tdi 110 in the car park and said that the puma was no quieter, no quicker, no more comfortable, no better built and simply just no better than what I had arrived in. I was amazed at how little improvement there had been. Have a think about what would make your 110 what you need. Better the devil you have rebuilt than some unknown IMO Phil. Theres lots you can do to make them more comfy, run better and quieter etc.

Wonder why they didnt do the easy thing and get a new airbag sent out. Very quick Job and all you need is a jack and some pliers!

I dunno. Often they dont need repairing and will soldier on (unlike new stuff). I had a rather loud clonk from under the 110 on the motorway in southern france. I didnt have any parts. It didnt seem to be driving adversely. I decided not to look. I pressed on and a few days later back in the UK spotted the rear ARB bracket had broken.

This threads a bit like the normal roof tent negativity in general... 'Why would you want one of them, take ages to setup, no lions in the UK' Mine is up in five mins and down in 7 and the beds already made. I like perusing all the options - every one has a novel idea you could copy somewhere. The F350 camper would suit the environment where its sold for sure. The original camper in this thread looks plush inside - more of a living room on wheels perhaps than a camper but still ideas to draw on.

Same ^^^ started using them when I got the d3. Good selection of brands, honest, fast delivery, easy to navigate site. Not always the cheapest but often are. Still use Britcar for the 110.

But would rubber squeal? I mean it might for a second but surely then it would rip and stop? I have the same thoughts? Is there more in that lip than just rubber?
