  1. Haha. Some of this did come from Halfords! To be fair I run a lot of SVO in normal times so that may not help?
  2. Weirdly I have found that fuel hose doesnt seem to last as long as it used to. Mine is on diesel as well. The old stuff that I havent needed to replace is generally fine. The newer stuff (bought as fuel hose compatible with diesel) seems to perish within 3-5 years.
  3. Can anyone confirm the current correct part number for front brake pads for a 1989 110 please? (non-vented discs if that makes any difference) RTC3163 is on LRCAT but the numbers this seems to supercede to on the parts sites aren't on there as far as i can see so I want to check I am ordering the right parts! TIA
  4. I was wondering what the MoD had to do with it too!
  5. Its still saying the same things and talking about conversion of the headlamp unit, not replacement with a full LED headlamp. So not an issue if you replace the whole headlamp for one designed for LEDs (and properly E marked etc)
  6. You are right - certain tarmac colours do it too - i.e. the M20 in Kent has a lot of brown coloured tarmac and its much harder on that than when on proper black tarmac! Its a funny one because I really didnt like it initially, but I could see. I think its the fact that in dawn/dusk light, halogens give a comforting yellow hue.. the LEDs dont, but you can still see... I almost had to train my mind that it was ok! On full beam I have two halogen spotlights so I dont have such an issue then but obviously thats off when travelling in heavy traffic.
  7. Yep. 45 degrees from vertical (or horizontal). They say it helps stop airlocks i think.
  8. I suppose the fuel lines on mine are not long, but I have never had the need to prime the pump at all. I bought a cheap silencer set but havent fitted it yet... I get what people say about the noise, but I dont find mine excessive... you can hear it and I wouldnt want to sleep with it going (so for a camper I can understand the objection more) but for 'normal' use, I dont really find the noise too loud - having said that, mine gets used if I am out in the snow and need extra heat in the cab (i dont notice the heater whilst driving above the noise of the engine etc), to warm up and defrost on cold morning or if the dogs are left in the car in the cold weather, so in the latter two examples I am not around to listen to it at those points anyway!! My heater in the 110 is pretty good so I rarely need the eberspacher in 'normal' cold weather.
  9. I always thought injector refurb was a specialist job? This thread makes me think otherwise - is it just an unbolt old and replace with new job then afterall??
  10. I've said that a lot too Ed. Despite my constant moaning, I like the Vehicle but the name is so ****ing wrong!
  11. The handbrake just needs three holes. It doesnt need a cut out. As gruntus says, the gear lever one is already there. Think carefully about the seatbox lid cut outs. I should have made mine bigger - i made them the same size as the box lids and that was a mistake - its a right pain to refit them.
  12. http://www.wrightoffroad.com/r380_mat.htm
  13. Three items - one complete across the footwells and gearbox tunnel, one that wraps around the bulkhead behind the fusebox and one for the seatbox. Mine is for an lt77 tunnel but I put some pics up in a recent thread. I am pretty sure the r380 version is the same, but slightly different shape for the tunnel.
  14. Haha - same as me (although mine lasted a little longer). I bought the 10amp CTEK about a month ago and have been impressed with it so far. I have a couple of large dumb battery chargers but its nice to have one that I can leave on a battery indefinitely.
  15. This was a daily driver up to 1990 and its been off the road since then. I have sourced a new set of wings (you can get fibreglass ones but the ones I found were original) - she has flat top wings on her, not the curve up I think you are thinking of. The sills need a little work, chassis leg under the driver and the rear arches (but you can buy the pressed arches still). The rest of the body is sound - it was always garaged and undersealed from new. I took delivery of a roll over jig the other day so I can get to work on it properly soon (I hope!!) Good guess on the tyres - I just checked and you are spot on.. I had a look a while back and I think there were only 150 2-door saloons left that were known of - it will never be worth much but thats not why I have it. Any pics of the Rover?
  16. This was my saga with the clutch. Sounds a bit similar to yours?
  17. I had a similar problem that turned out to be the metal structure of the friction plate breaking up. A piece had snapped and I think was jamming intermittently. It definitely sounds like a clutch issue though to me.
  18. I cant access the 20% business discount though as I am a normal commoner I dont beleive in HP either so like to own what I have.... modern car buying probably isnt for me.
  19. Personally I find £50k is still ridiculous for this car.... £81k is bonkers! According to Parkers a new 110 TD5 CSW in 2006 was £24,472 - according to a couple of inflation calculators online that is now worth £33k-£35k today.... Its not the same vehicle though - so comparing the 'Discovery 4+' with the actual Defender probably doesn't make sense, but it does show that land rover have jumped several price brackets with their new Disoverydefender.... (oh - and to be fair to Harry - I dont think he has bought that vehicle, it sounded like an extended test drive from a dealership and they left the build cost for that vehicle in the car??)
  20. No the two door 1800 saloon. I would say unfortunately its not the 2300 In Firenza shape but dad bought this new in 1974 so I love it for what it is and the restoration will be to as new with no mods. But... I do agree, the coupe shape was lovely.
  21. Haha^^^ I have 3 'projects' on the go and two daily drivers to maintain. I dont know where to start! 1. A RRC off roader, engine is fitted but need to get the wiring done 2. A 1974 Vauxhall Magnum - full strip down and restoration needed (it does run though!) 3. Chassis, bulkhead and door swap on the 110 - this will be a much bigger job than planned I am sure! This was my daily driver but if it fails the mot in a week or so it is getting fully rebuilt 4. Disco 2 and Disco 3 to maintain as daily drivers.
  22. One of the best looking cars ever made IMO. They are just lovely from every angle.
  23. Agree with Steve - my bet is something wrong with the swivel setup.
  24. Have you got the swivel pins and preload setup correctly? Mine only leaked when there was a lot of play in the swivels.
