  1. Sorry Ralph, not been on today so only just seen this. Its a bit of a trek really so don't worry. Given the replies on here, I need to try the other trailer and see what that does - that could rule out the car and implicate the trailer. I am sure it was working at one point yesterday but stopped soon after I embarked on the journey.... Its a 7 pin plug so I might blast it with some electrical cleaner and see what that does... Will report back...
  2. Thanks chaps. The bulb definately works as the telltale trailer light triggers on for the first flash of the indicators with and without a trailer connected. I did replace the flasher relay last year. I cant remember if I have towed since then though! I replaced like for like though and the telltale definately flashed before that with the trailer indicators. It also flashes as it should with the hazards.
  3. As above, my trailer tell tale for the indicators on the dash isn't working. The trailer lights ARE working and everything has normal bulbs not LEDs. Any ideas? Its a 1989 110.
  4. Someone has put some hideous graffiti on the side as well!
  5. At least they got on with it. Gerry's spawn took five years to gestate into the monster it became....
  6. You are right - I hadn't made the distinction. I can see the likeness between the Bronco Sport and the Pretender. I prefer the full blown Bronco out of the three for sure.... !
  7. That image looks quite different to the vehicles pictured here: It's like its been fiddled with to make it look like the defender when in reality it looks a fair bit better?
  8. He looks like just the type who will buy the new defender. I cant remember when I last saw someone in a roll neck...maybe he is covid ready - he can just unroll it up over his face. Very prepared.
  9. I chickened out on doing mine!
  10. What about the Rivian? Thats all gone a bit quiet?
  11. Me too! I keep wondering if any Brexit trade deals with the US might make that more likely..
  12. I wouldnt grind/sand them off. Looking at the underside pictures you will remove/weaken half of the attachment points?
  13. My original coils on the 110 did about 22 years and 200,000 miles. I dont think the new defender will last that long, let alone its suspension!
  14. Is it a proper new and then galvanised chassis, or an old used chassis that has been galvanised? I have seen a couple of the latter and they have still rusted out in the common spots eventually. I guess that might affect answers....
  15. Yup. As above. This project had added appeal to someone like me who likes to buy into the UK brand. If it goes to France that appeal lessens massively!
  16. Haha. Or they lowered it as well to suit the likely desires of the main buyers...
  17. They look like the minute you go over a bump and the body dips, they will tear the wheel arch to pieces!
  18. It will add to cost but cant you get Smith and Allen or anyone else to ship to an address you know you will be stopping at?
  19. Haha. That theory didn't work for me unfortunately!
  20. Why not use ATF Neill and just change it more often? Say every 6k miles? Should be available easily, hassle to change but may be better than leaving less suitable oil in there for possibly longer periods? Last time I looked, Ashcrofts website still reccomends ATF for the R380 - not sure why as many others, including the LR spec, is for MTF94, but if Ashcrofts are recommending ATF then it cant be that unsuitable?
  21. Blimey.... I am going to sound like mmgemini.... My plugs never get stuck as I undo them to check the levels every 6000 miles 🙂
  22. I would like to see it built in the UK....
  23. I saw, I just didn't really understand why. That's a shame as i have a stumpy R380 and am done changing gearboxes!
  24. Will that engine fit a stumpy R380? Just curious. Surely if it will fit the long shaft R380 it will fit the stumpy but sit further back in the engine bay?
  25. Article in the Times apparently talked about a £35k start price. I haven't seen it but a friend mentioned it. Don't forget, there will be the 20% discount for those who can fiddle a commercial vehicle through the books and then convert it to a normal car for normal uses.... (is the 26k for the pickup plus VAT?).
