  1. as above i spend lots of time and would be happy to help at a moderator level
  2. Can't see why it wouldn't to be honest the 300 does lend itself to being put in a series bay better mainly cos if the turbo placement and the serp belt setup is a better idea IMO.
  3. I'll message me mate, I can't afford one but he probably will be interested for his business, see what he says.
  4. The joys of fatigue... I did the same once but mind you I was pressing a Uj back together in it ant it was one of those cheap Chinese ones. That wasn't fatigue but you could tell there was so many air bbubs and impurities in the casting it was unreal.
  5. I have an hop envy, it was ££££££'s but can cope with anything I throw at it running creo2, full machine assemblies FEAs the lot it's much quicker than the uni supplied desktops in the 'engineering suite' haha Most probably overkill but the speakers are good too
  6. I'm all up for supporting a section whereby some "minor" moderator work is required but other mods have more important jobs higher up on the to do list I'll happily volunteer, maybe if a couple of us are on the lookout through general viewing, and can action this along with notification from other members too? Just my 2p
  7. Hmmmm, went to anchor on today I felt a "thunk" through the pedal and now the front left seems to be much stronger I must have had seized pistons since it was stood for a year? Calliper rebuilds now a priority! Where do I get stainless pistons?
  8. I can vouch for them, I recently purchased a service cart for the same reasons as above, it's better than my halfords pro stack and the particular one I went for had latching drawers. I keep all my most common tools in it and it saves so much time compared to fetching tools from the stack and trying to move armfuls of tools from one wheel to another. Plus I use the top as a worksurface all the time. I'll see if I van find a pic. Edit, I was looking at their 42" stack sets originally but couldn't justify the dive for something I had never actually seen or felt before, now I have experienced them though I would definitely go for one. Their warranties too I think 10 years. I must say the castors are the hard plastic type and due to my tight workshop ideally I would prefer 4 swivel castors rather than 2 fixed 2 swivel. And it didn't come with drawer liners but I cut some out from some Eva foam
  9. could possibly be it, but id like to rule out braking hydraulics first safety first anorl its never bad to have good brakes
  10. is it an adjustable affair? and a standard 300 part? seems interesting i could do with an adjustable bias valve
  11. thats what im thinking defender pedal assy and G valve if i can find one. shoudl be alright then as the system would effectively be same as fitted to a factory 90 pickup.
  12. he was green before coca cola IIRC, merry christmas to all, what did you all get? i got one of these : http://www.toolstop.co.uk/makita-dtw281z-18v-cordless-li-ion-impact-wrench-body-only-p71063 was after a 3/8" version really more for nut running than hardcore impact but its rather quite nice and as compact as the 3/8" one (Which by the way they dont sell in UK, only america for some reason)
  13. could be due to a supplier change, i am waiting on a 3/8" wobble extension i wore out, theyre (Kobalt tools) moving facilities or something or other so a bit of a backlogue on ordered parts. bit miffed on that one but they let me keep my old tools, so i can still use it even if the sockets keep falling off haha
  14. never had that problem, usually pretty good on their word too, theyre not meant to warranty ratchets or ratchet spanners but they didnt complain when i asked to replace a 13mm ratchet spanner. a mate had a ratchet break too, they didnt have the right one in stock so he got the long handle one as an "upgrade", maybe they will just replace with the new type completely
  15. cheers EJ different master to me then, looks awful similar to the one i bought however it doesent fit on it clashes with the vacuum in line on my servo. ill see if i can track that one down and toenden, mine gets more "back light" than i would like it to be, at higher speeds its actually better than low speeds funnily enough.
  16. usually flux core mig welders should be setup as DCEN rather than DCEP, this makes for a much nicer weld (for some reason) swapping the polarity wont damage the welder but should make a large difference. mind you i still prefer a stick welder than flux core. as above try a smaller rod
  17. as a rough guess the ash ATB is around 15 kg dont quote me though lol
  18. i managed to afford one and i am a stoodent. plus i got the VAT back but i dont actually think theyre a bad price considering the cost of repeatedly replacing read standard diffs!
  19. meanwhile i had an interesting back overtaking the front (almost) moment coming into newport the other day at 4am (very icy so exacerbates the problem) can you please take a pic of your brake master EJ? just to confirm i have a similar one? and do you have any biasing valve at all in there? what does your brake "tee" look like too? maybe there is some biasing to be found in there? maybe its as simple as having the extra weight of the hardtop on?
  20. put it this way, I get to play with diggers and electronics!
  21. Simon, i may need some brackets cutting for my dissertation, care to try it out on some 3-4mm steel? really impressed!
