The dc100 was purely to put us all off the scent and gauge reaction at the same time. The rumors I've heard are range rover sport chassis base but without ecu's and it's already being tested but hey that's just rumor. As to production having seen the line and knowing it's already moved around the solihull site several times. It would make sense to move it to India and would be easy to box up and post as it were. Lets face it the market is still there just not in Europe any more. Just take look at the current trend for glorifying defenders in Europe not using them as they were intended.

God no not turkey oysters produced 3 hundred plus foot yachts in turkey 4 years ago. The yard I used to work for have only just finished completely rebuilding them they were so bad I wasn't allowed to have a look onboard the first one when launched as at the time I worked for one of the UK builders. They don't build oysters anywhere but the UK now.

Nomad are one of the few mini kit cars I haven't owned. But alas no I didn't bid as tsd rightly says there is plenty of my mini based junk kicking around........
Mike
Yes it is. John foers produced two mini based kit cars the nomad and the gecko both land rover esk before he went on to build the mk1 ibex (land rover based).

I know some object to the number plate being on display but please educate me as I don't understand why. I mean surely the point of a number plate is to display it. Sorry if I'm being thick.Mike
You need to look for a 83-86 110 parts manual I've got one but it's in storage. I assume yours is ex military as I don't think the fitted sliding windows to any thing civilian after the early 110's (83-84ish). If you need the channel section for the top of the windows I'd be interested in the part no top as mine rattle to.
Mike
That would surely allow a defender to pass all the modern crash and pedestrian regs why didn't the engineers at land rover think of that......Ok I'm going now.

If the crossmember is bolt on that won't be a problem either. To be honest if it's done to look like it always was no ones likely to spot it let alone know it's not original.Mike
Back then you told them what you had built and they basically just registered it for a small fee. It's one of the reasons I don't understand why A, so many incorrectly registered and illegal cars are out there. And B, why people have so much of an issue with q plates to me q plate means most likely fully legal modified car that a copper and vosa will ignore. (i've had more issues in age related plate cars than q plates).

Bear in mind there are atleast two different type of gearbox/t-box mounts they may mount in the same place on the chassis but I can guarantee the t-box is not in the same place as there are atleast three different front prop lengths all rover front axle and lt230 t-box.

There are atleast two grades of stainless in a4. 70's and 80's, 80's are stronger of the two but I personally wouldn't classify them as equal to 8.8 steel as the two are measured and rated differently however I'm not going to get into the stainless v steel debate as I've made my thoughts known in the past and some will argue till we all get bored.

37" trepidors on what looks like 16" mach 5 beadlocks. I think the arches are specials as there was another tread about them I while ago. I don't think it was decided where they came from.

Whilst I agree with daan/lewis on a series/90 on a disco the gains from a simple 2" suspension lift out weigh the negatives. Yes cog is worse but most everything else is improved. Body lift is point less approach, ramp brake over and departure angles do not change plus cog is worse so the only gain is tyre clearance. At the end of the day it's a daily driver not a challenge truck.
Just my 2 pence worth.
