when this first happened to me i just cut them back a bit and re soildered them and then when building the tomcat cut them out completely as early discos didn't have them or fuses at all. if your going fuses i would look at a 300tdi wiring diagram as they use fuses so you can work out what size fuses you need iirc at least one is 100 amp although your alternator is only 65amps i think

sika 512 is UV safe but better for sealing
sika 291 is an adesive/sealant and will do just about any thing you want on a landrover plus you can paint over it. it's the one i use

on my tomcat (200tdi) as the rad is in the back i had the same problem so i looped a copper pipe around at the front behind the grill. at the last MOT the tester could not get the oil hot enough to do the emmisions test so i guess i've got enough cooling.

slightly off what your asking for but might be helpful when clear plastic(any type) gets scratched use some black colour match type polish on it you'll be suprised, what you thought was so far gone as to be useless can be retrevied to useable again.

the other thing that can make the belt squeel is if the tensioner bearing is not running in line or worn out i belive you may need to place a 1p at about 7 oclock between tensioner and block

when i bought mine it was labled up as a 50a/h but was replacing a 90 a/h so i quiryed it and was told by barden batterys that due to the way an optima works a 50a/h is the equivalent of about 100a/h lead acid and ive never had any problem with the cca on mine
mike
mine did the same thing if you take the output cover off thus exposeing the alloy heating fins and run it with this off this allows a better flow of air so it runs cooler so then if it runs for a lot longer then it was over heating in which case get a service kit for it do the service and it should solve the problem that what i did with mine and it's been working fine since

my tyres are marked up as 33/12.50r16 but they measure out at 285 and they are on 8" rims

mike

mike
