  1. The ones D44 sell are made by Rangie Spares in Oz. I'm going to try & repair my rear drivers side one, after catching it on a log in Belgium , but if that fails then I'll need a new one, if I can get just the one!!
  2. A little warning Les, I've just come back from the Belgium National where I had a small argument with a log on one of the lanes and it did this to me rear arch flare : Not sure if I can repair it yet or if I have to fork out for a new one, if D44 sell them in singles!!
  3. Anyone you know doing the Sunday trial then Tony? and I think this is the tree you had fun with! We didn't make it though the tunnel and managed to find a way round! We were the last vehicle up the second hill on the night section before the SIII rolled and they closed the hill.
  4. If the CV is clicking without the difflock engauged then I woud tend to change it, if it's OK without difflock then you should be alright, just change it when you get back.
  5. Chris, FTC8387 have a U/J at each end (200 TDI & V8) and FTC3705 (300 TDi) have a U/J at the gearbox end and a large rubber doughnut at the diff. If you're in need of FTC3705 then I have a spare up here that needs a new doughnut but is okay apart from that. I could post it too you, just depends on when you're leaving as it'll take until maybe Monday to get South!!
  6. My view: Stay here, get the archive from the old place and let the poor thing die in peace. It's like keeping someone alive just so they can be an organ donor at the moment. The members are the forum, not the URL or the programme!
  7. It feels strange over there now, a bit like when you were a kid and you were made the ware your brothers hand-me-downs!! Or is that just me?
  8. Okay John, so we were posting at the same time!! No link to here yet though!!
  9. Not sure if it's revived or not, all the forums are back (with original post & thread counts) and this is at the top of the page now:
  10. Just give the U/Js a good soak in light oil, like 3-in-1, leave it over night, give it another soak in the morning and start turning from lock to lock. You should feel them loosening up. You don't need the nuts loosened off! Aso, if your going to the look at the free-play adjustment then make sure the wheels and steering are in the dead-ahead position if you alter it at all.
  11. Mine also did this witht he 3" lift until I fitted caster correction radius arms and all is well again, no wondering or pulling to the left. Of course, if your Disco has standard height suspension then these won't help. What sort of steering damper is fitted, I've heard that some of the gas dampers will cause a constant pressure to one side as they try to push apart, but not experienced it myself.
  12. I got here cos Les, the nice chap, sent me a PM in the "other place". Name/URL - there are addresses available for landrover-addict, landroveraddict, lraddict, lrforum etc etc It doesn't cost much to register a URL for a couple of years, about £18 for a ".com" or £8.50 for a ".co.uk" and once you've got the name you can link it to this site.
  13. I'm not saying print our advice word for word but they could have used our experiences with the likes of the pitfalls with suspension lifts, how it can effect the steering and why you may find your anti roll bars flip over on full articulation etc etc.
  14. Copy of my email to them: I had time on my hands and felt like a rant!!
  15. Did you get the email okay John? I didn't get round to doing the photos today, try in the morning.
  16. Here's a couple of the Disco: River crossing on a beach one the island. Langdale Quest. As I got it. As it is now. My old Rangie bogged on the hills over Helensburgh near Glasgow.
  17. I've got a Rimmer Bros "cat back" system on the Disco, got it cheap about 4 years ago at Billing, £80 for a new system!! The silencers are OK but the pipes are showing signs of surface rust. I went for stainless cos of the salt rich air we have up here and the system seemed reasonable to me at the time, even if it doesn't have the lifetime warrenty form Rimmer Bros. Would I got for the same again? We recently replaced the full exhaust on the Rangie and went for a normal on cos' I can get 3 standard systems for the price of a stainless one so not sure really.
  18. <wipes spray of coffee from screen!> Very good, I want a set!
  19. I had "Fair play for all" on the other side but that was put there by one of the mod's after I defended the small guy on a thread years ago. Think I'll change that to: "No Cheep Trill!" when you get the time Les.
  20. There we go, all unpacked. Let me know if the blatent plugging of my website is a bit much on here and I'll find something else to use.
  21. Hi Peeps. I must remember to check my messages more often, only just picked up the one Les H sent me yesterday! I'm sure we will all find out the full story in time, I did wonder where the internet forums page had gone too in this months LRE! Well, looks like here and the Mud Club for me in the future then. Oh, I'll unpack by bags and get my avatars out when I get a moment.
