  7. Rob, You have a short. The live wire to the side light, tail light or number plate light has chafed through and is shorting to earth. Time to examine the wiring and find where it has chafed. Mo
  8. Blimey it's so over-engineered it looks like Nige made it Mo
  9. You will get increased wheel bearing wear because of the extra leverage exerted by the load being further away, however how much by is a subject for contention. The two people that I know that run spacers suffer continually from the nuts to the hub coming loose. That's enough to persuade me to avoid them, I'm afraid. Mo
  10. To save all that hand priming, I take the wire off the stop solenoid, open the bleed screw and turn the engine over until fuel comes out of the bleed screw. It's a lot less bother Mo

  14. I, too, have a recollection that Disco steel wheels are not as strong as one might imagine, although I can't remember where from, alas. Mo
  15. Well done chaps, fantastic result - Bravo !!!!!!!!!!! Mo
  16. Don't pay top dollar Ralph, they go for far less money than the mechanical ones. Mo
  17. Further to Jim's answer, to save having to chop a TD5 harness up, you can make a plug for the back of the speedo from 2 radio plugs glued end to end and then cut down. As Jim says the transducer plug is the NAS type which you can buy singly on Ebay My conversion was christened on our Pyrenees trip and it was nice not to have to average the speed from the flickering needle. Another thing I noticed is that the speedo was spot on to the gps with 255/85r16 and a green speedo drive. Ralph, A search should show some companies that will zero or change mileages on electronic speedos. Any progress Jim, on the lights, I'm chomping at the bit here Mo
  18. Cheers Ian, don't they have a 4x4 show or event there each year, It'd be good to try and tie that one in !!!! D, that'd be great if you could do that !!! Mo
  19. They get old and knackered. I replaced mine with a TD5 electronic speedo, no cable to route and rock solid needle. Splendid Mo
  20. Thanks Si but really I'd prefer to do my own thing since these tours generally lighten your wallet by about a grand before you even leave home ! Mo
  21. Is it a new word, a combination of warranty and guarantee, perhaps Mo
