  1. Yep, The Green Oval-downloads landrover data all free. Lynall
  2. Discs and pads are much much easiers to change on the TD5 compared to the TDI, 1 hour max if you go slow! Lynall
  3. I dont think 300 has a braided lead, the earth comes from the neg on the battery to the inner wing then carries on to the engine in one complete assy, not to say its okay of course, the 200tdi used to have the braided earth from nearside body to engine. Lynall
  4. Mine is chipped by TD5Alive look at his website, and has passed the last two mots with flying colours on emissions, i wipe my steering box clean every year just for the mot! Readings were 2006 0.59, 2007 0.11! Lynall
  5. I would just fit an inline waterproof fuse holder and fuse and try a 10amp fuse to start with. Lynall
  6. I think front roof drains are at front of the sunroof and go down the a pillars. The rears are also at the front and go forwards and then backwards under the alpine lights out to just behind the rear lamps. Lynall
  7. Stolen from another bit of this site! As Fitz said, the fusible links are the problem. They are not visible though. From the battery there should be a large wire and then one slightly smaller wire/s. Follow these along the top of the inner wing, you'll need to remove the electrical tape from around them, as they're tied together and shielded. Each fusible link will have a plasticy style netting over them. get hold of each end of each of the links and tug. The blown one will stretch farther than the rest. Alternatively place a multi-meter probe at each end of the links, with the ignition on, the faulty one will show a voltage on it Lynall
  8. Meant to say i think 200 has fusible links in the main wiring loom as opposed to fuses and they corrode and fail. You can tell where they are as the wire is slightly fatter at each end of the link. Lynall
  9. I had a non start on my last 200 and where the battery earth lead bolts to the drivers side inner wing it had corroded, would go with a jump but not on its own sometimes ok others dead. Anyway cleaned it up and was ok from then on , 300 earth lead goes from the battery to inner wing then carries on to the engine. Lynall
  10. I like delgrah cross country as i am a miserable git and they are even more miserable than me so it cheers me up Actually they are both pretty helpful but i dont go ib there much these days even though i only work 100 yards away! Lynall
  11. Maybe he cleaned the gauze filter fitted to some lift pumps? Lynall
  12. The gunge in the manifold is from the egr, the oil in the cooler is from the engine breather. Every small diesel engine i have ever worked on has had oil in the turbo pipework so dont worry about your turbo yet. Lynall
  13. Porblem is if you remove that filter all the **** will go into your injector pump which costs a lot more than a lift pump! Just clean it out on each service thats if you refit it. Lynall
  14. Open door get some one to hold it loosen top hinge bolts lift door slightly tighten bolts then try again, or maybe it needs a new seal. Lynall
  15. Corrosion in the lamp plug, mine did this a while ago new bulb holders cheap. Lynall
  16. It heats the incoming air have a look at discoweb.org yank site they talk about bypassing it. Lynall
  17. Yep i have had the same eberspacher heater for over 8 years on 4 different discos now 1 200 2 300 1 TD5. Just break into the heater coolant circuit the samller hoses that go into the car. Note coolant direction flow. 300 fuel supply before lift pump easy to do TD5 has to come from tank as fuel pressure to high for eberspacher. 300 mounted on drivers side inner wing between fuse box and the brake servo. Pics are of my TD5. Lynall
  18. Mine done this twice now last time i had to helicoil several of the holes as the studs came out in my hand. Lynall
  19. I have a k+n on my TD5 as its chipped its hard to say if there is any difference only thing i really notice is a sucking sound from under the bonnet. Look on e-bay for k+n the 300 and TD5 filter are the same. Most people say not to fit them as if you over oil them the oil gets onto the air flow meter contacts and wrecks it. Had no bother with my meter and as you have a 300 it wont matter anyway . Lynall
  20. It does seem to me the bigger intercoolers are way overpriced I would lay the td5 one on its back and see how many litres of water it holds then do same with tdi one and i would bet theres nothing in in difference wise, due to the thickness of the TDI one. I would wait for a 2nd hand one to come up on e-bay for the TDI. It will also be a lot easier to fit. My last car was a TDI 300 auto which was chipped and had a large cooler, before i sold the car i removed and sold the cooler (£120) and whilst i did notice a slight difference it was very slight less than 5% at best. Lynall
  21. Replacement gaskets for the trucks at work are now coming in the shim style, i have seen one fail due to faces not cleaned up properly and incorrect torque used it blew the side out! Lynall
  22. The buzzing is normal My last 300 a 98 edc auto, the edc was okay over 50k sold with 100k on the clock was also chipped and it flew. Lynall
  23. Not sure on rest of gears but the 300 first gear is much higher than 200 first, as i used to chug away with a trailer quite happily in my old 200 then got a 300 and had to give the clutch some stick just to get going was a nightmare on a hill start with a trailer and a couple of passengers. Lynall
  24. Is your diflock in? Are the oil levels correct? Lynall
  25. Jesus christ James thats a bit ott Cress was only reading on another forum about the suggestion about the pipe around a coolant hose may be the way to go. Lynall
