  1. Well, I was up for the 27th - even had a pass - but now I am going to my mums for luncheon, all my stepbrothers will be there so I may have a sherry or two... However my day pass has been transfered to the 29th - woohoo. So I will (hopfully be coming) and am happy to sort out a route.
  2. Even though I can't get a pass out, I can let you have the contact details for a couple of superb sites.
  3. Chris, Sorry mate but it's now a no go. I have to go to Nige's do earlier in Feb (work) and that is my permit used up... What with having to do all the shows next year and possibly Essen or Val d'issere (sp?) permits are not easy to come by.
  4. The 105 series is available in Europe - through Holland - but not too easily. Ask Roman on this very forum. Great vehicle - simply the dogs bo**ox
  5. Bish, Can I meet you on the M5 somewhare as I have a stack load of bits for Phil.

  7. There is a place in Ex Eat ERR pm for the number of a bloke who knows - or find it yourself Bugger Tim, as always has beaten me to it... It's because I am having a wake - by myself
  8. Ibex. But an original Bowler Special would be interesting, or a QT Ultra-light. If you have a good RR chassis and drive train, why not just build a 100" Hybrid? It is simple enough to fabricate the Bowler Special/Series 1 less than curvacious panels, make your own bulhead and use series wings. It would take the same time as re-building the Tomcat kit. Or just buy an engineless 90 and chuck on your drive train.
  9. Pooh to you Nige! The one we have abused the hell out of for TOR is still - annoyingly intact despite every attempt to cmpletely bugger it. It's a Samson Products jobbie (Lifting and Crane) and it might be cheap but it's okay.
  10. Don't get the Garmin mushroom type - when it rains they let water into the co-ax! I just found that one out...
  11. There have been the odd very rare cases of plasma cooking when lowered for long distances/times down steep drops. But one or two incidents become blown out of proportion with urban legends apportioned to all and sundry during 'pub' talk. When you talk to the synthetic rope suppliers they very rarely get any claims for melted rope - so unless loads of users are just putting up with it, it doesn't happen that often. IIRC Nick Field managed it quite well with an X9 and some Bowrope - about 70 feet or so. What I don't know is what state the cones were in etc. WORN Warn cone brakes on the HS/XD series tend to be somewhat prone to not working properly so can get a tadge warm as can Ramsey Platinums.
  12. Chris, I am allowed out in Feb as it is my 40th on the 21st. I will suggest to SWMBOWOFOETSHTF that I might like to go 'laning in Wales. I am happy to navigate, hell I happy to sit in someone elses passenger seat and navigate all weekend (as long as it isn't Turbochargers). Pencil me in and I will apply for leave
  13. Not quite! All the Ep and Epi range have an 'in gearbox' brake as does the DV come-up/Premium/Premier as they are all the same. The Ramsey DV200 is worm. Most WORN WARN commercials are disc brake. The LROi quote is a simply a quote taken from almost all winch manuals, like not powering in for more that 30 second continuously or always free spooling out or even nver wheel assisting.
  14. Me in the biker/blue oyster gear Ian in the cowboy hat Andy in the construction hat with his stick on nose wig Paul Challis with the feathers on his head
  15. Top geezer number one - Moglite/Red Ibex/Andy M Huge thanks - I owe you one Top geezer number two - Bull Bar Cowboy/Ian Thank you - I owe you one as well Thank you both very much
  16. It is rather beautiful isn't it - the naked TD5 is rather sexy too...
  17. If all you want to do is correct the castor from a lift, the easiet and cheapest way to do it is to fit SuperPro bushes. Great bit of kit, works and is easy to fit. Howvere LR90 is right - some lift kits - but not all oddly enough create prop binding problems or backlash vibration. SuperPro are at http://www.superpro.eu.com - talk to Richard Fearn
  18. I got my bits from America by post - as I have a mate working out there - but try Ashcrofts, they sell them
  19. He's right! A front wheel drive weasel is the best if you haven't got a scooby or a fiat Panda is the way to go
  20. Takes more skill to drive a 'full length' ....
  21. Ha! You should try completely re-building it once you have bought it!
  22. I also use a largish cheap funnel with a length of 1" pipe about three feet long fitted into a five litre container. Mind you I also have access to a four poster when I do this... A job I have to do on Thursday..
  23. Tony, Pete Read at Continental Cars does very nice Sealey belt wrench with 3/8 and 1/2 inch drives - works very well - costs about 6 quid. I have just bought another one as I gave mine to a mate... Fits into the depths of a Tdi bay very nicely
