  1. Any one for popcorn? On a serious note respect is due to Les - admission of mistake and apology takes a lot of doing; well done that man!
  2. I checked wit the village next door - 30 quid for a night to have their hall I will have a word with my neighbour tomorrow ref our hall and force myself down to the pub on friday
  3. Your incontinence pants getting over excited then calming down
  4. Paul Graeme, the Landlord at my local will let you use the skittles alley on a non skittles night - want me to check with him as to availability. Also the village hall charges next to sod all for a night and it has a bar and a stage - even got a PA system I live within striking distance of a fair few of the forumeers - 3/4hour form Exeter, same form Brissal, 30 mins form Yeovil, hour from Lynton
  5. Woohoo - thanks Ralph you just made my week!
  6. Paul I would be interested in a presentation - but like Chris anywhere North of the M4 or East of the A34 is not going to happen. If you do one down here we could put you up
  7. Electro Diesel on the Sowton Estate in Exeter are good - they came reccomended by someone in the trade. As The Good Bishop says though it ain't cheap. I have just had a set of injectors overhauled - £312.00 inc VAT
  8. I'm always suspicious of paranoia
  9. Didn't know TOR was still about. Do they sell it in the shops or is it just subscription these days. Last tiem I read it it was going downhill so fast I was reminded of Cool Runnings. Only things that kept it going were Tailor's pictures and Gibson's words
  10. You and me both! However I had a similar noise the other week, UJ's seemed fine, still deemed okay when Matt took the prop off, but when the UJ's were taken off one was US
  11. You could throw on a new motor A TDS 8500 motor is a nice price form Goodwinch and has a genuine 4.6hp or you could go up to a 5.6hp Bowmotor (Bish has one on his Xd9000). Nothing you can do with the box apart from some sensible grease and a clean, re-set the brake. I would dump the bridge and go for tie bars but that's the kind of guy I am Give me a shout if you have any problems
  12. Looking that good who cares about re-buildable, it's all about looks not performance Hell, Paul Challis proved that a series motor with a winch, parabolics and 32" Simex could stuff most vehicles in a competition
  13. http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpage...shocks_mx6r.htm These were the ones we used. What was really important was the bling factor; it's very high These can be brought in from the states via the underground system used for Rogue Vogue
  14. Nige sorry I was writing fast! OEM is meant to be OME http://www.4allfours.co.uk/Images/ltrfitsm.jpg RR means Remote Resevoir not Range Rover We first used the MX6's on a trialer. It ran some rather special axles and suspension but was nose light on climbs wich meant wheel skip. Dialling down the shocks to thier softest setting meant no skip, especially if we dialled up the rears. We beatsed the same shocks on the Bowler special in place of the Fox units and found them to be very good - again the ability to adjust the damping worked a treat. Having Remote resevoirs alloed for maximum cooling so there was no fade Just to add, I use the 100" for everything! From long distance off road/overland stuff to the odd trial and a bit of marshalling. I know the un laden axle weights and I also know what I carry in the rear. Due to it's wheel base and larger than 90 overhang I have also weighed it corner to corner. I am very limited to spring types thanks to it being a shortened 110 - if I fit longer 110 springs the rear just doesn't move at all and it looks like a hot rod! I use OE red and reds on both sides at the rear - they are just about perfect but I would prefer progressive springs. On the fornt I have some 'Springs' suplied by Paul 'Poison' Challis but in the good old days of Yeovil 4x4 - I think they are Britpart Blues but again they work just right. I use Disco rubber doofers rings on the front and standard length Pro-compES9000's as I don't want dislocation, on the rear I have +2" ES9000's with Mountain Goat dislocation cones. When I replace thew rear prop I will be asking Mountain Goat for a set of their upper shock mounts and I will replace the rear shocks for a +5
  15. Nige I run PC's on the 100". I find that they are slightly too hard with the springs I run, but with high cyclic movement they become too soft due to heat build up. I need a remopte resevoir shock for better cooling - having run RR shocks before I know how well they work! Generally OME shocks are pants but they make a superb remote resvoir system - OEM LTS I think. What I would really like (and have used in anger) is the Pro-Comp MX6 - not only very bling which is so important, but remote res and adjustable. Nice
  16. I had a few Rattlers on Friday with a couple of old friends, played with an RRC on Saturdaym drank a couple of large Perrys on Saturday night and spent quality time at the in-laws today
  17. The LP series are T-max units, painted, fitted with an albright type solenoid and some stickers. The T max range of winches (and other kit) is very good, well designed and pretty reliable
  18. In an ideal world you want the cut off switch as near the battery as possible
  19. Well your DV and your EP are pretty much the same apart form colour Your TDS is a 21st century version of the EP and very well priced, also far stronger that the Warns wich in turn are weaker than the EP/DV The XD9 is one of the two decent winches made by Warn The 9.5Ti is a good small boat anchor
  20. if you look under my 100" you will see that most of the nasty mud places are filled with cut offs of carry mats - cheap and no water ingress; cut to fit
  21. Paul, give Anton at OEC a shout, he has used many different companies over the years
  22. The TDS bridged version has the same tie bars as the non bridges, they are just hidden by the bridge. Geoff Bimsons TDS's are as JST says not a Goldfish, they have a number of differences including the all important water proofing. I can confirm that the freespool is superb - better than anyelectric low line winch on the market
  23. Did what Safety Dave said. Charlie I have both types of defender sender - TD and 200Tdi, in the garage. Also have a spare gauge. I'm not in tomorrow but I could bring it in on Monday
