removing the turbo off a td5 isn't that hard. DP bolts are accessible and turbo to mani bolts are ok aswell. a good soaking in release agent first though.
but there is the other side were people get robbed by garages and then think everyones at it.
would like to see his dads face with the bar hanging out the axle casing.
after 2002 they get the facelift dash and the later / better 15p engine
10k gets you a nice 2003 with 80,000 on ebay
i'd like a dc but with a disco transfer box mod
yes i'd do all the above please waxoil the chassis, bulkhead and b pillars etc. jack the car off the ground, pump the tyres up hard, disconnect the battery or leave it on trickle charge. get some dehumidifying crystals etc to stop the mildew.
i got asked hen i changed a 19j to 200 on an old 90
stupid omen didn't have a clue when i called her.
good luck, they like to keep V5 lately......... don't want old and dirty cars around
turn it up, just remember to let it tick over for 10 seconds or so to let the turbo wind down from 100,000 rpm! thats what kills the older style turbos. modern engines have aux electric water pumps to keep the engine and the turbo cool for 10 mins after you shut it off.
