  1. With a nice forum discount too.....maybe??
  2. It is both safe and legal and the Boge won't work properly once you've fitted a lift anyway, so might as well bin it...
  3. Mobile Storage Systems sell them as an addition to their cubby boxes. Not sure on the sizes, though...
  4. Take the suspension off and sell it separately, along with the axles. The rest is pretty much scrap, so weigh it in... Got to be better than leaving it to rot in a corner!! Bear in mind that if the suspension is all relatively new, it shouldn't take too long/too much effort to get it apart...
  5. Blimey!! Even my Range Rover one wasn't that bad!! Maybe I shouldn't have sold the RR and got a 90.......they look like rust buckets to me!!
  6. Cheers for the ofers, chaps!! Spares isn't an issue... I have 3 in the garage courtesy of Mr Watts. It was more a case of how to get it off and whether it was possible to refurb one myself (from a learning how to do it perspective) as I might as well try to get at least one good spare on the shelf out of the 3 on the floor!!
  7. I know I have your number, but the last thing I want to be doing is ringing you up every time I get an issue!! I imagine that you'll get very annoyed with it eventually!! I'll have a play in the daylight...
  8. Mark - will do!! Gromit - cheers. Will have a look-see on Saturday. I had a sneaking suspicion that it wasn't as hard as it looks. Just the lack of space and big hands that concerns me!!
  9. I've found Les' 'how to' on 300 tdi Disco starter motor removal, but want to know if it's basically the same in a 200 defender?? All I get when turning the key is a quick clicking sound... It's not the battery as I've changed it and also tried jumping it off of the works car, so I'm guessing it needs a bit of attention. Also, is it possible to rebuild/recondition the starter at home, or will it need to be sent away to a specialist?? I have a couple of spares that can be combined, but haven't got any manuals yet... TIA Adrian
  10. Snigger, snigger!!! It's normally Mo that picks people up on things like this, but I appear to have beaten him to it! Sorry James....couldn't resist!!
  11. I have an Aldi special rattle gun and ratchet, but that's about it... If you are looking to buy I can recomend Machine Mart, Screwfix and the like. Otherwise, keep your eyes on the For Sale forum as they sometimes come up. Maybe try a post in the Wanted forum... HTH Adrian
  12. Nicksmelly - that is correct, however, your PAS box or arms have to overcome that force in order to steer the vehicle. I have no experience of them, but the only benefit that I can see is better self-centreing (is that a word??), but it would involve more effort to turn the vehicle in the first place. And...at almost £100, it seems to be a rather expensive way of overcoming an incorrect steering set-up. 2p in the jar...
  13. If you are desperate for stub axles, I have a pair off of a 92 RR in the garage. They are from metric hubs and it had ABS, but I don't know if that matters... Drop me a PM if you are interested, rather than moving away from the official topic subject!!
  14. Might even be worth replacing the replaceable seals before fitting it. That way, you won't be taking it off for something fixable...
  15. Short answer is yes, as long as it is regularly maintained and is rated suitably for a RR.
  16. I hope you have lots of time on your hands... They are quite fiddly and will only move 1/2" at a time, but they do come out eventually!! Have you tried bolting it in place as they are very tempramental and will only work at certain angles...
  17. Cough, cough....click me... cough cough!! Now with a few less bits, though!!
  18. Didn't hit a bump and knock out the inertia switch did she?? Sounds like the exact same symptoms that mine had after a numpty took my front corner off!!
  19. Don't worry... I get that alot when I start asking questions about electrical stuff... It's all smoke and mirrors, you know, and I have a knack of finding the smoke!!!
  20. I have the same springs as Dr Rob on mine and have found quite the opposite. The ride became very harsh and, whilst there is 'enough' flexibility for off road, it would benefit from softer springs. Police spec ones (as Deano has mentioned) detract from ride quality unless you are heavily laden for the majority of the time. If it's the only thing stopping you and the seller is willing to put a new set of standard springs on it for no money, go for it. Just my 2p...
  21. I don't know how big the hole is, but a large socket, a hammer and a piece of wood (put over the socket so you aren't striking the socket with the hammer) usually drift that sort of thing out. Short of that, a brass drift and a hammer and some careful persuasion should do it. HTH Adrian
  22. Myself, Mark, his other half and Superpants will be in attendance. Having never been to this one before, not quite sure of the set-up, but will probably end up around the X-Eng stand at some point to annoy Chris and Simon
  23. It's about 5" wider and longer, I think. I haven't parked standard one next to my D2, though, only a modified one... It's definitely longer than my Range Rover, though...
  24. Anyone checked the gin forum fund lately??
