  1. Along the same lines, the plastic vacuum formed trays chicken and mince (eg) come in make great trays for keeping nuts and bolts in as you take them off.
  2. I'd run fresh wire. The wire in the loom is now 17 years old and will be suffering.
  3. Have a read of this. The mondeo fan fits very well with a little bit of tinkering.
  4. worst case scenario, if the two AC square waves are 180 degrees (- i.e. half the wavelength) out of phase, you'd get 0v AC. You'd have to have closed loop frequency control to sync the two wave forms. In short, you need a 1.2 Kw inverter!!
  5. As fridge says, the fact you're dealing with alternating current (AC) means it won't work.
  6. No worries, The tech archive posts are "copy & paste" versions of the originals, I though the orginal author was credited in the sub-title. Edit: I was
  7. great post! You forgot the paperclip from the brush pack - don't want to damage those nice new brushes. Where did you buy the kit from?
  8. dripping the oil in has got to be the way forward i reckon. can't experiment with heaters like these in my garage, due to the fact the house is built on top of it!!
  9. And the cart springs it's sitting on. Edit: grr, Ralph mentioned that already.
  10. this is pretty much the same bit of kit, 125kg/11m or 250kg/5.5m
  11. groovy, mine's not as swish as that, but then it does have to sit in front of a 300L air tank....
  12. Don't waste money on a kenlowe, nip down the scrappy and get one for about a tenner, possibly less. I've got a 2.0 mundano fan (i think!) and it does the job admirably with an X-eng thermoswitch housing.
  13. In my opinion, anyone who leaves their car keys in sight of the letterbox or front door is leaving themselves open to this sort of thing. My keys are on the bedside table beside me when i go to sleep.
  14. Yup, did a hundred or so cans tonight as a test run. I might paint it tomorrow.
  15. I wouldn't waste the money, personally.
  16. Made some progress today. It works rather well
  17. push-fits are used all over the place in industry, from pub beer lines/drinks dispense to pneumatics on production lines. I've got a load that sit at 120psi on my air compressor setup. I don't have a problem with them leaking at all. I must admit i've not used any as small as in Fridge's pics, I use 6mm fittings for axle breathers and my compressor set up.
  18. Suitable size spade/ring crimp terminals to suit. You will need to upgrade the alternator output wiring from the alternator to the starter.
  19. I'm left handed, there are some things you just have to live with. - The handle for the pillar drill is on the wrong side, as are all the clamps. - Jigsaws, routers etc can be fiddly. - Grinders with the switch on the side are a PITA. Of course, there are times when it's an advantage, i was helping my dad build some shuttering this weekend, he's right handed so between us we were comfortable able to swing a hammer into all the corners we needed to etc.
