  1. Italy replaced 100's kms. of oak sleepers in the late '90's on the HSL's for concrete and the Continental market was floaded with them. Very good quality - some less than a year old... These days, nobody wants them..
  2. Many "soft top / convertable" RRC have been made over the years. Here in France you see them from time to time. Nice one that is.
  3. Holland in November with the 3-axle UK in December with the 2-axle Just back from a 4,500 miles round trip.. There was a reason asking about better seats in the 110.... 😎
  4. Hmm..... Another 5,000 miles with trailers await me later this year.....
  5. Nice But please note the obvious : the are regarded as chemical waste and working in the industry, we treat them as such.. The dust etc. is not good. But once in place, they will do just fine ! Love your mobile sawmachine..
  6. Reading the above, I am even more happy to have a spare Bulkhead that awaits a small amount of work and cen get dipped then. Seems almost as if collect yourself and inspect before parting with money is thing to consider...
  7. Option 1 : Talk to Richards as they love challenges Option 2 : Have s Stage One chassis and learn to live with the not too bad gearbox Option 3 : fit a 109 body on a 110 chassis Bon Courage !
  8. Remove anything that can be mechanically removed and drill some extra holes in double skinned areas, pockets, etc. The modern acids aren't as good as the old ones - those were really scary.. - and the galvanizers will be able to do a good job. We did the Series about 30 years ago and still in perfect shape
  9. We use for the oil changes a Pela 6000 Heat up engine (=oil), take out dipstick and pump it out. Works also very good for the other oils. To fill the gearboxes, we heat the oil and use a tube with a funnel on the end and and fill it from way up..
  10. Normally, complying with the industry standard, the VIN # should be with a D2 behind the RH Front wheel, just before or above the axle. You should also have a vin tag behind the windscreen and a complete VIN plate in the engine bay. Look in the owners manual for the location of these numbers in doubt.
  11. Thanks. IF all goes according to lpan, I'll be in the UK late Nov - Dec. collecting bits, some D1 seats including.
  12. No worries. I'm looking for the D1 seat option for now.
  13. Excuse my ignorance..... English is not my native tongue... Thanks
  14. Where do these " scooby seats " originate from Mike ?
  15. RRC seats these days fetch huge amounts..... How about Subaru etc. ?
  16. BMW...... Interesting as they are around here - and I don't have to have electric ones as I'm the only driver.... I'll try to find the tread you mention. thank You. @Mik - yes, they need a frame. I have them in the Series... Stupid me. Smaller wheel is perfect.
  17. Thanks Mike. I'll have a look at those as I must have one somewhere here...
  18. Thanks. Looks as if you're sitting quite high.... But I have D1 seats here so can give it a try. Please, keep it coming...
  19. Right, I tried searching but did not really get a good answer, so I'll ask you kind knowledgable lot.. I need for my 185 cm heavily build body a better seat in the 110. No rear bulkhead and access to the batteries below is not an issue as they are fully switched and have a remote charge connector. I have tried the Exmoor ones and they are not for me. So, what is a good seat to look for from other cars to go in ? And, ideally, do you have any pics of thos seats in a 110.... Thank you.
  20. Intersting remark about the filter and the flickering light.. I'm just back from a 1,120 miles test drive with the new to me 300 Tdi in the 110 and had the oil light flicker on me when stopped after a long hard run. Filter & oil due to be changed this week...
  21. Nice to see a series used !
  22. Having had too many RRC's and on any hight - go back to normal height, get some good quality springs & dampers and be ready to feel a different vehicle. Raising RRC's - and esp. D 1's - needs to have a good reason for lifting as it does make a difference.
