  1. How old is the Discovery? If it's an older model second hand parts are probably the way to go.
  2. See I said some one would clarify, you can tow more behind a 90 than a 110.
  3. There was a topic running on trailer towing weights. The 750kg isn't exactly true, hopefully some one more knowledgeable will be along to clarify.
  4. I have a similar problem with my 300tdi when I picked it up it would not accelerate although once out on the road it would cruise at 70-80 I found that the lift pump shaft had lost it's washer off the bottom and thought it was the problem. Since changing, it has improved but is still sluggish. I have adjusted the fip but still not much better, as I can't make it smoke much I assume it must be a fuel problem not air. As it is only a toy and is still running I haven't delved further, so will follow this with interest.
  5. Hermes will take car parts as long as they are under their maximum size and not hazardous materials.
  6. As far as I'm aware you never own the vehicles ID, it is allocated to you for the vehicle. A chassis alone does not have the entitlement to retain the registration whether it has the corresponding vin plate or not, as it does not meet the points system from DVLA. So effectively buying a chassis alone with ID still does not allow you to return it to the road legally. Although trying to prove that the rolling stock used in a rebuild was not originally from that vehicle would prove difficult other than the engine of course. The selling of an ID alone really has only one purpose, It would be a stretch of the imagination to believe there is any legitimate reason for trading in them.
  7. I've broken a few of those whilst using them for their proper purpose so wouldn't think their clamping strength is that good. although they should hold panels in place long enough to weld. Making your own out some channel should not be too difficult.
  8. I report all the ones I come across whether it helps or not I don't know. I spent a day travelling to Leicester to collect a 110 rolling chassis to rebuild my 110 onto solely because it was supposedly legit only to find the V5 was for another chassis. I think his mate had rebuilt his onto the one chassis and they then tried selling the other on the wrong plate. A waste of my time and fuel.
  9. Nice looking truck, Although that plough would have to go, I hope you have some fun with it.
  10. Have just done a dvla enquiry £500 per year road tax! No wonder I don't want a newer one.
  11. Welcome back, The 110 CSW is my favourite, I will rebuild mine hopefully soon.
  12. Welcome to the forum Andy. Are you following a wiring diagram or just connecting a live and earth? Some one may be along and correct me but I would think that the wiper would need a permanent live to ensure it parks and a switched live to operate.
  13. Is there any specific night view with these or do they rely on ambient light? Looking good though I like being able to purchase extra cradles. Just looking on the website but could not see a listing for extra mounting blocks, do you happen to know how much they might be?
  14. I manage to build up queues behind me in a 30 limit and even longer ones in our 20 limits (which most bus drivers or police cars fail to observe) so a 20k limit will have cyclists passing you sticking their fingers up.
  15. Many thanks for the replies will ask for more details from those recommended and see which the club members prefer.
  16. Welcome to the forum. The headlight upgrade was quite common on the 200tdi as many people liked to make the vehicle look younger, and sherpa lamps were not thought to be cool enough. There are a number of part directories on line which are free and easy to use Microcat is just one.
  17. Many thanks just looked them up on google and found a company in Coleford Gloucestershire. I shall contact them and find out more information. Does any body have any experience of Whitecliff offroad centre. Also All terrain services in Swansea. any experiences would be use full.
  18. Don't take it for land fill it should be recycled properly. If you can't cook the planet at least try to help save it.
  19. Can any one recommend a good, reasonably priced off road tuition centre or tutor in the S. Wales or west country area for a small club group? Covering general off road techniques and winch recovery with a recognised qualification at the end.
  20. With such a range of springs for a Disco 1 why choose springs from a Disco 2?
  21. That was my point. If it was restored a year ago DVLA should have been informed, If the police decided to do a random search as it looks so good it might invite unneeded attention.
  22. Cat C or D is not a problem, but according to DVLA it's blue.
  23. You say it turns faster when you unplug the coil, is it running a dizzy? if so the timing may be a little too far advanced and trying to fire whilst the piston is still rising.
