  1. That's a fair comment Si I am more than happy to cover time and costs to yourself. You have put a lot of effort into this and many people may reap the benefits. I will have a steep learning curve as I haven't used this sort of software before. Looking forward to a new challenge.
  2. Sounds like your engine stat is opening and cooling the system, try a new stat or a radiator muff. I don't think the TD5 creates a lot of excess heat.
  3. You say your pistons move freely, are the pads a tight fit? it could be with lower rear pressure the internal pads are jamming in the calliper and and allowing all the pressure to press the outer pad. I often find I have to file at least the paint off the pad edge and a little copper grease to get pads moving freely.
  4. I was thinking of trying this, my thought was to use some reinforcing mesh in the bottom with timber supports for the item and a 24v battery charger.
  5. You could try putting a bolt into it and hammering the section back straight then pulling back through the hole. I am not sure how well this would work, but worth a try.
  6. It's not the weight rating of those stands that would concern me it's their footprint, as said it could be easily pushed off them. maybe he should have used some cardboard cut outs of wheels to make it look nicer.
  7. It's amazing how out of touch some people are they must watch to many reality programs or Deadenders.
  8. Halfords are selling their one tool box set for £299 thats the black pro set, and also selling their smaller range in blue for £120 which appears to be a decent box.
  9. I've never used one myself but I wouldn't consider driving off without unplugging it unless you have a long extension lead.
  10. Could they just go in the Tools and Fabrication section and rename that to Tools, Fabrication & Modifications and save the admin more work.
  11. It sounds as if they are not activating fully, try jacking the rear then see if the wheels will turn with light brake pressure. could be the dual circuit is not working properly.
  12. I've been following the thread with interest, and would be tempted with a set myself @ the 10 or more figure. Even allowing for postal charges on top it sounds good value considering what I waste on Land Rover parts at times.
  13. Try 2gether imsurance they do specialist 4x4 policies, I have two policies with them at the moment.
  14. Santa has already brought me a cold does this count, But Merry Christmas all!
  15. I have one of Simon's pedal locks, I bought it at Newbury second hand but unfitted, probably due to the fact the PO hadn't assembled it correctly. My gain great bargain, excellent peice of kit. This new lock system may be very effective but for that money you can get a number of other systems that will be a greater inconvenience or even pay for a gps location system. It would also pay for an extremely good quality chain and padlock to the nearest lampost. The old idea of leaving a cylinder head on the seat I think is probably just as effective.
  16. I believe they made a 2 litre petrol model for some police forces on the continent, not entirely sure if it was Italy. I think they used the same set up as the mpi Discovery.
  17. I shall do it now Thanks in advance. All done!
  18. Hi NIge! do we order the challenge kit and then send you an email with our forum details to tell you we wanted the standard kit?
  19. Can't you just use a voltage sensing relay to supply the A/C switch supply to ensure the engine is running?
  20. They have a 110 chassis with id going for over three and a half grand
  21. Unfortunately it still won't stop those who already flout the existing levels from chancing their luck.
  22. What is the best way to report a V5 for sale on ebay to these people? As another is posted on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Landrover-v5-log-book-Chassis-/111511542754?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19f69b1be2
