  1. That was on ebay back end of last year sold I think for about £3500, He has a done a few jobs and put back for sale was up for a grand more a while ago. Nice looking series the link has a lot more photos showing more detail of the extension.
  2. Exactly the way I did mine, quick and easy without having to disconnect any rods.
  3. Thanks mmgemini. I have since found a manufacturers plate under the tow hitch covered in paint which when scraped back shows the manufacturer as Atlas Trailer Company of Hull. Unfortunately having started trading in January 1972 they were dissolved in 2007. The axles are 45mm solid bar supported on 2" X 28" triple leaf springs. The whole trailer is made of solid metal in box or channel of at least 5mm thick sections. It appears more than capable of handling most vehicles but would be nice to clarify the manufactures design weight. If only to keep plod happy if stopped.
  4. Pressure test it first or use a tracer dye before stripping the heads. It's a lot of work to find it's from some where else.
  5. It has two box section axles supported on multi leaves sharing a centre box section pivot. The only wheels I can find with the same pcd are off a Bedford cf according to an on line pcd chart.
  6. Thanks Western that looks like it could be them I shall see what else turns up.
  7. Having re-checked the photos of the drum that I took it's actually Barford Trailers Ltd. not bradford. That comes of reading it upside down. But this still gives no return in Google. Western As stated the manufactures name is cast into the brake drums and also the initials stamped into the bearing covers although there is no plate on the chassis the pictures don't really do it justice as it is solidly made. It may be that the axles are off a different trailer but it all looks as if built as a professional job. I think the grave stones are a stone masons yard.
  8. Having recently purchased a 4 wheel car transporter trailer from the Bay of E, I am looking for some information about it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261179645302?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Whilst stripping the drums off to check the brake mechanisms I found the name of Bradford Trailers Ltd. cast into the drum. Having done a Google search I failed to find any info. on them. I was hoping a member on here might be able to help me with a few queries. I am trying to establish a safe maximum gross weight. Looking at the design and construction I would assume it should be quite substantial but would prefer to clarify it correctly if possible. The wheels are my other concern they are possibly off a Bedford CF van they have a 152mm Pcd with 5 1/2 j 1183 12c stamped on the rim. although the wheels are serviceable with only a re-furb I would like to get a newer set or at least a spare. any help on these would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
  9. He's probably put it that way to gain better access to weld the under side.
  10. I used a pu adhesive sealant but you could use the non setting sealant they use on caravan roof vents it allows for different expansion rates.
  11. This is also my problem I don't think my neighbors would be pleased with an oil slick running down the lane. getting it off the engine is easy compared to keeping the lane clean. I've considered using an old blanket on the floor to catch the mess but I am unsure how effective it would be.
  12. Try bearing sets for push bike head stock cheap enough. Halfords maybe
  13. I've got a power craft no gas mig I bought from Aldi a few years ago. To convert it I found the torch already had the valve fitted I only needed to fit a suitable pipe through the lead and then alter the polarity by switching connections within the unit. I also adapted it to run a larger wire spool attached to the outside of the case. Open the torch you've got and see if the brass valve is fitted.
  14. Bearmach have advertised for years normally on the back page of LRO. They have been in business for many years and have developed many items for Land Rovers. I'm lucky they are just down the road from me now. The counter staff have always been very helpful and often they have some good bargains in their shop, shop soiled or slightly damaged have never had a problem with any of their own brand items.
  15. We've had a little n South Wales, have had some pleasant driving cannot understand why people cannot be bothered to clear widows and lights before driving. Had a Porsche in front of me still covered in snow crawling along got annoyed because I overtook him. Other idiots out and about with no clue how to cope.
  16. This is the problem Land Rover had with the one they did as a special.
  17. Got to agree have just been given an old big belt driven unit and was surprised by how much quieter it is.
  18. I agree about the traders leaving early, but as most of the public had already gone you can't really blame them the halls were virtually empty by 2.30. As others had left bargains were there if you haggled. I picked up a station wagon rear passenger door for £4, unfortunately it's a lift up handle but the frame is reasonable and cheaper than a repair section.
  19. Had the day there better than I thought it might be, not nearly as big as Newbury lots under cover but would benefit from many more private traders. Hopefully it will improve in the future. I managed to pick up a few bargains but a lot of what I wanted wasn't there.
  20. I'm going so are a few of my local club members, Hope to find a few things I need. Lets hope the weather is dry.
  21. Not trying to insinuate anything just warning that a lot of the second hand wheels & tyres are unfortunately not as legit as we might hope.
  22. Just hope they aren't off some ones pride and joy.
  23. I've just rewired mine with the new crystals, night breakers and relays
