  1. I'd be lost without my zeus ! Today was spent practicing on the dividing head. With a lesson from youtube for starters. G
  2. So i bought it. And then found the free lite version of a similar one : https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bolt-hole-circle-calculator/id587068320?mt=8 Actually this one is easier to read if you're talking X Y's. G Therefore you owe me £1.49
  3. Now i have to register my bank card with them for $1.99
  4. I'm looking for an app that i can use on my iphone if anybody knows ? Either a free one to use this excel spreadsheet or an app that can calculate the bolt hole positions. I can't find. Cheers G
  5. Nige, you got it. I remember now. I tried to fit a housing that takes the A/C switch, but that is what fouled on the alternator - the actual switch. Here is my engine mid-fit, you can see the blank where a sender would go in - but doesn't fit. Then made this to use instead : G
  6. Why run an extra pump ? We have never had a problem with rear mounted radiators and standard v8 water pumps. If you have no bypass hose and no p38 thermostat housing how will the water circulate before the stat opens ? An electric water pump normally goes on the bottom hose of the radiator, if you have this switching on at 68 and are running a stat i think you are making things difficult. Do you have a heater matrix circuit - if so where does this return to ? Where are you planning on plumbing the electric pump into ? See hybrid from hells recent thread about them. G
  7. If you are using an electric water pump, how are you doing this with a thermostat in place ? I would cut the top hose and put a small tube in between with the senders in place. I made mine and can have 3 sender in it. like x engineerings : How did you get a normal thermostat housing to fit a gems 4.6. I'm sure i tried that and it touched the alternator ? I run the normal gems housing, but no thermostat and no heater circuit.
  8. This is an excel spread sheet for marking bolt holes in a circular pattern (X, Y). Might be useful for someone ? (Will not be held responsible if it gives you a wrong answer ) G Bolt Circle Calculator.xls
  9. We did a test weld on the hubs today, so shall be modifying them to 5 stud tomorrow Seemed to weld ok. Used a 312 filler rod. G
  10. Update : I spent nearly 6 weeks away at sea, so not had much time to work on this. I'm not convinced about my original plan of running an 8 stud, so might redesign the hubs. That's for later. Been working on shaving the bottom off the diff housing. Marking the cut line : (FWIW - channel iron is not the right thing to use to clamp the axle to the bed. It flexes whilst tightening up, i need to find some big vee blocks) Cut the bulk off with a grinder and then clean up on the mill : A plate care of Carl Hurst (needs machining out the middle to allow for crownwheel - it is 15mm thick to start ) : Snug : Need to find some more filler rod this morning and then get it welded on. G
  11. I agree with what you said Si, but put those front arms onto an offroad challenge truck that gets abused and i'm pretty sure they'd get bent. LR front arms are tremendously strong and we manage to bend them, now look at the size tubing that's been used above. G
  12. That is not a conventional 4 link. Looking at the arms, they don't exactly look very strong in my opinion. I wouldn't buy it. G
  13. It'll be the bore of the cylinder that is leaking at that point, i doubt you'll see the problem without stripping it. G
  14. Most challenge events don't let you run lpg either. G
  15. I thought there was only one brand of washer - Karcher Always served us well Loads of different models. The same way a vacuum cleaner is always called a "hoover". G
  16. Nige, I honestly think you have a problem with your radiator / fan setup. Yes you have a 5.2 but i've (touch wood), never had any issues - bearing in mind we regularly sit with it revving away for a while driving winches etc. Boothy has run an ewp for ages, i have always run normal pumps and been perfect. My radiator is rear mounted and relies solely on its fans (with cowling) for cooling. G
  17. I've run bailey Morris on my comp truck for a whole, touch wood always been perfect. G
  18. Mike, if you can wait a month till I'm home, I can machine a groove for you. G
  19. Sorri about that Nijel, but i had to come out for a p1nt. I'll defo ring on Mondiy. Dunna wat is wronge with my truk. G
  20. Looks good Nige, but i think your transmission whines more than my 2a with overdrive You need an auto in that See you at the next fuel station lol....
  21. Brake disc adaptors in progress : Need to be finished off on the milling machine today. G
  22. Sockets don't always fit inside the hub so you have to use a box spanner. We carry both though G
  23. I sent you a picture showing the internals mr boof. Come visit me on Monday on your way home, i'll show you G
