The chances of it being the CV are quite high if all this happened when turning.
Start by checking as described above for which prop is turning. Then jack each wheel up and see if you can turn it to find out which side the broken shaft is on.
If it's a cv, then you're stripping the whole lot down.

1) its easier to do than blanking them off (if you have a length of hose to hand).
Hose + plug in the end. 2) I reckon anything that helps bleed air has to be a good thing. Having said that I've never had an air lock anyway..
A thermostat with a hole in does the same job.
I don't think we need a heated throttle body do we ?
I've not run mine connected for years.

It wasn't cooling properly when i went round. Gauge or not, the temperature displayed on megatune was too high !
But i agree, sort the gauge on the dash
Daan,
I've got single beadlocks like what you're on about. The outer edge of the rim has been cut off, then flanges welded onto both halves of the rim.
I still prefer my double beadlock, which are split in the middle and then reassembled with a piece of plastic pipe in the middle to lock both beads at once.

Nige, the max draw we had on the 42" bar was about 15v with the engine running it dropped to about 14.5ish.
The 7" draws about 3amp.
I didn't check my total current draw last night, but with all my lights on the alternator is maxing out at 86A...oops... That is with 1 x 42" LED bar, 1 x 7" LED bar, 4 x spots, 4 x 18W LED light engines + cooling fans.

I think the initial problem was the overheating. We changed megatune to celcius so we could watch it (i don't know farenheit scale!), it was warming up and getting too warm ! i.e. 95 C idling and then switch it off.
Glad you've got that sorted now. Next on the list i think is a cowling of sorts to enclose the new fan you've put on. They make a big difference.
I'll be honest and say that the engine bay is nice and neat Wiring / plumbing looks ok. Definately no air locks in the system. Also didn't see any air leaks.
If the cooling is good and she's got an mot you're a few steps closer to having it running 100%

This is how we put mine on. It's only temporary as it'll be removed after this night challenge.
I put one of the smaller 7" ones on the back and that is also pretty bright !
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how a landrover free wheeling hub engages.
I know you turn the knob to lock the dog clutch.
But what is actually going on behind that ? How do they return when you turn the knob back ? Is the dog clutch spring loaded to unlock ?
What i'm really asking is could you activate it from the outside using an air ram if the knob was removed and parts machined to fit a ram ? This would be used in a winch setup.
Are there any links to eploded diagrams for the different models around ? I've had a look on google but can't find.
Cheers
Gordon
Just on the off chance, if someone is looking to sell their light bar could you please drop me a pm. Got a night challenge coming up and fancy trying one.
Thanks
Gordon
