Had a very quick reckon up on how much this project has cost me to date, purely out of interest to myself. Up to now around £3200, this also includes consumables, obviously time is not included, non of us worry about that I guess........

I'm assuming that winch will only be used to help others out? Can't see it being needed by yourself, given the front and rear air lockers and the ground clearance similar to that of a giraffe (ohh.. and the operator being a couple sandwiches short of a picnic lol).

Probably not the wisest thing to say considering your on temporary secondment to my team this week .............lol

Be quite entertaining looking at a graduate engineer hanging from his ankles 100' up from a cement silo top........

Not as yet, don't know how much twist I will get on the rose joint, Bush is too long at the moment so I can put sleeves over if necessary regards Stephen

Have a look at the misalignment spacers that are available. They were silly cheap last time I bought any at work. Even if it gives you and idea of the shape.

I can make alignment spacers, the bush I made is just to see where I'm at when I start flexing again. As it stands at the moment I don't know what sort of movement to expect off the pan hard rod, which is why the bush is probably way longer than it needs to be

Does it move that much where it requires misalignment spacers.??

Some info on that would be good regards Stephen

I would have thought no, but I can grab a picture of mine so you can see how much it flexes. Worth bearing (pun intended!) in mind that if you’ve got a rose joint one end, it won’t be averaging the movement over two bushes like it would normally.

For a moment I thought you'd fitted some treasure from the scrapman in the form of a Hiab to Sid.....

Not a bad idea........

Could lift the "little green thing" clear when hung up on its diffs trying to follow Sid........

I have a question, power steering pipe cannot follow usual route, it's fitted but very untidy, does anyone know if there is a flexible braided version available to buy or will it involve a bespoke one from someone like Pirtek

If it's the high-pressure side you'll need it made by adults as it's in the 1000psi range, if it's the return pipe any old bit of garden hose will do*

I've found the easy route is to cut the steel pipe with the fitting on it, clean it up & then get the hydraulics place to sell you a compression olive type fitting / adapter onto something sensible like 3/8" BSP and then they can do you a cheap & easy off-the-shelf hose to your required length with standard fittings on the end that won't cost the earth.

*= Not really, obviously use proper hose.

@Stellaghost, try my thread for the PAS hose, was able to make it up at home and rated to 3000PSI, teflon lined stainless braided hose was the key.

I remember that now !

If you don't mind me asking do you have a link to where you purchased said materials please

Regards Stephen
