Landies In Fillums

Last night I caught "The Ninth Gate"

In it one of the main characters (driving a P38) evades Johnny Depp (driving a Rolls) by driving through a stream on a french lane. Made a change to see a 4x4 in a chase scene actually get driven off-road, and for the bad guy to actually use their brain...

Just noticed according to IMDB the tagline for the film is "Leave the unknown alone" - which should probably be printed on the front cover of all Haynes Manuals

The NAS90 in the video for Britney Spears "Baby one more time"

Which of course you only watched for the Land Rover content :lol:

I'll be the first to mention "The Gods must be Crazy", got to be the funniest LR movie ever,

"Born Free" & sequels with SIIas

"An Elephant Named Slowly", neat family entertainment & a SII (a) named Mr Mucherjee

I guess it shows I'm into things African, been there once , want to go back :(

Cheers, Steve.

There's a Series-something in Existenz used for a particularly unrealistic bluescreen journey

Series 3's in one of the Ace Ventura movies

Series 1's in Gorgo (A true classic, but for the wrong reasons)

And a Series 3 in Dog Soldiers that gets sabotaged by, err, throwing a load of wires under the bonnet or so it would seem

Wondered when a topic like this would come up.

Several Classic Rangies in Ronin

Singing Rogers & Hammerstien in a Classic Rangie in Anger Management

A dodgy pair of muppets exploring pikey land in Snatch

This one could run & run :D

If you watch "ICE COLD IN ALEX" at the end as they drive away through some desert town you can see a LR S1 parked up in the background.

A war film with a vehicle that first appeared in 1948!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

..and as if by magic I just hapen to have a screen capture of that very scene...

PS: Ice Cold In Alex was released in 1958. details here. ;)

A few more...

Plenty of Military Defenders in "28 days later"

Think Sigourney Weever drove a IIA(maybe III) in "Gorillas in the mist"

In the opening prison sequence of "Romeo Must Die" were there 109's in the background?

  • 2 months later...

Went to see Underworld Evolutions yesterday - mmmmm Kate Bekinsale.... drives a modified Range Rover in it.

You'll just have to combine the two in your head unless anyone has a screen shot:

Another thing is the Rangie is indestructable - it gets attacked by warewolves (or sumfink) who slam into it, and in the fight that follows people get chucked into it, heads smashed through windows, etc. and then the next scene it's driving down the mountian not a scratch on it
